Three questions. One honest read on where your business is exposed. No spam, no pressure, no invoice.

Free IT Assessment: Find Your Blind Spots in 60 Seconds

This is a short, pointed assessment for Texas business owners who suspect their IT is a problem but have not had time to prove it. You answer three questions about your business, your biggest technology headache, and what has kept you from fixing it. We turn that into a personalized risk read written in plain English, not a generic PDF. If it makes sense, the next step is a 20-minute conversation with our founder, Donovan Brown. If it does not, you still walk away knowing exactly where you stand.

What We Offer

Comprehensive solutions tailored for Houston-area businesses

Your Real Risk Profile

We map your answers against what actually takes businesses your size offline: the aging server nobody wants to touch, the one person who knows all the passwords, the backup that has never been test-restored. You see which of those patterns fits you.

Security Exposure Check

The assessment surfaces the gap between the security you think you have and the security you actually have. Most owners are not negligent, they are just relying on assumptions nobody has verified in years.

Downtime Reality Read

What happens on the quiet Tuesday your server dies? Who calls whom, how long are you dark, and what does not go out the door while you wait? Your result frames downtime in terms of your operation, not abstract uptime percentages.

The Objection Mirror

Question three asks what has stopped you from fixing this already. Cost, a current provider, no time, not sure it is broken. Your result addresses that specific reason head-on instead of talking past it.

Growth Readiness Signal

IT that works fine at 15 employees often quietly fails at 40. The assessment flags whether your current setup scales with your plans or becomes the thing that caps them.

A Clear Next Step

You do not get a score and a shrug. You get a specific recommendation for what to look at first, and the option to walk through it with the founder in a 20-minute call.

Why Choose LayerLogix?

Serving businesses throughout the Greater Houston area including Houston, The Woodlands, Sugar Land, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio.

Personalized, Not Generic

The result is assembled from your actual answers: your business profile, your pain point, your hesitation. It reads like someone listened, because the logic did.

No Sales Pressure

Nobody cold-calls you because you took a quiz. You choose whether to book the call. If you take the read and walk away, that is a fine outcome and we mean that.

Useful Even If You Have IT

Plenty of owners with a current provider or an internal IT person take this to pressure-test their setup. A second set of eyes on your risk costs you 60 seconds and might confirm you are in good shape.

Walk In Prepared

If you do book the call, you show up with a shared starting point instead of a blank whiteboard. Twenty minutes with the founder goes a lot further when the homework is already done.

Honest by Design

No invented statistics, no scare math dressed up as research. Just a straight look at what tends to go wrong for businesses like yours and whether you are set up to handle it.

Free On-Site Office Assessment

What Happens When a LayerLogix Engineer Walks Your Office

The 60-second read above tells you where you probably stand. An on-site assessment tells you where you actually stand. One of our engineers comes to your office, opens the network closet, and looks at the things a questionnaire can't see.

Network Closet and Cabling

We open the closet and look at what's really in there: the switches, the patch panel, the cable runs, and whether any of it is labeled, cooled, or hanging by a zip tie.

WiFi Coverage

We check signal across your actual floor plan, not a diagram. Dead zones, overloaded access points, and guest networks that bleed into business traffic all get flagged.

Server and Backup Posture

Where your data lives, how it's backed up, and the question that matters most: if this box died today, how fast could you actually get back to work?

Workstation and Endpoint Security

We look at how your computers are protected, patched, and managed, and whether a stolen or infected laptop could take the rest of the office down with it.

Email and Identity Basics

Multi-factor authentication, admin accounts, and old logins that should have been shut off when people left. This is the first door attackers try.

Physical Security Basics

Who can walk up to your equipment? We check whether the server closet locks, who has keys, and whether a visitor could plug into your network unnoticed.

What you walk away with

You walk away with a written findings summary and a prioritized action list: what's fine, what needs attention, and what to fix first. It's yours to keep whether you hire us or not. Hand it to your current IT provider if you want.

On-site assessments are available across the Greater Houston metro (we're headquartered in The Woodlands) and the Austin metro (our office is in Round Rock). In Dallas-Fort Worth and the rest of Texas, we schedule on-site visits case by case and can start with a remote assessment while we work out the trip. Wherever you are, we follow up within one business day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this actually free?
Yes. The assessment is free, the personalized result is free, and the 20-minute call is free. There is no trial that converts to a charge and no invoice hiding behind the form. We do this because owners who understand their own risk make better clients, and some of them decide to work with us. That is the whole business model.
Will I get spammed if I give you my email?
No. We use your email to send you your assessment result and, if you book a call, the calendar details. We do not sell your information and we do not enroll you in a drip campaign you never asked for. If you hear from us again, it is because you asked us to follow up.
We already have an IT provider. Is this still useful?
Often more useful, honestly. If your provider is doing a good job, the assessment will largely confirm it and you lose 60 seconds. If it surfaces gaps, you now have specific questions to bring to them, which is a healthy thing to do with any vendor relationship. Either way you learn something. We are not going to trash-talk your current provider on the call.
Do I have to talk to sales?
There is no sales team to talk to. The call is with Donovan Brown, the founder, during business hours or by arrangement. He is an engineer-turned-owner, so the conversation is about your setup and your risks, not a pitch deck. And the call itself is optional: you can take the assessment, read your result, and never book anything.
What happens after I book the call?
You pick a time that works, you get a calendar invite, and Donovan reviews your assessment answers before the call so you do not have to repeat yourself. The call runs about 20 minutes: he walks through your result, answers your questions straight, and tells you what he would look at first. If working together makes sense, he will say so. If it does not, he will say that too.
How do I know if I need managed IT services at all?
A few honest signals: technology problems land on your desk instead of someone whose job it is, nobody has tested a backup restore in the last year, one person leaving would take critical knowledge with them, or you have been putting off a known issue because there is never a good time. If none of that sounds familiar, you may genuinely not need managed IT yet. The assessment is a fast way to check rather than guess.
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes. Your answers and your contact details stay with us. We do not share them, publish them, or pass them to third parties. What you tell us about your business is treated the way we would want our own vendors to treat ours.
Do you only work with Houston businesses?
LayerLogix is headquartered in The Woodlands with an office in Round Rock, so Greater Houston and Austin get on-site coverage fastest. We support businesses across Texas - Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, and beyond - with remote-first management and scheduled on-site work. Take the assessment wherever you are; the read is the same.
Is the on-site assessment really free? What's the catch?
It's free, and there's no catch. An engineer walks your office, and you get a written findings summary with a prioritized action list that's yours to keep. If you want our help fixing what we find, great. If you'd rather hand the list to your current IT guy, that's fine too. We do these because owners who see what's actually in their network closet often want to talk further. Some don't. Either way, you leave better informed than you started.
What actually happens during the on-site visit?
A LayerLogix engineer comes to your office and looks at the stuff that never shows up on a phone call: the network closet and cabling, WiFi coverage across your actual floor plan, how your server and backups are set up, workstation security, email and identity basics, and physical security fundamentals like who can walk up to your equipment. It's a walkthrough and a conversation, not a sales pitch. Afterward we write up what we found and rank it by what to fix first.
Do you cover my area for on-site visits?
We run on-site assessments across the Greater Houston metro from our HQ in The Woodlands, and across the Austin metro from our Round Rock office. If you're in Dallas-Fort Worth or elsewhere in Texas, we handle it case by case: we'll schedule an on-site visit when we can, and in the meantime we can start with a remote assessment so you're not stuck waiting on a truck. Tell us your city or ZIP and Donovan will confirm within one business day.
