Fitting software, booth equipment and hearing aid sales on a setup that holds

Audiology & Hearing Clinics IT Services

Audiology runs on a fragile chain of software: the audiometer feeds Noah, Noah hands off to each manufacturer's fitting module, and patient history lives in Sycle, Blueprint or CounselEAR.

At a glance

Break one link and a fitting appointment turns into a reschedule. We support the fitting workstations, Bluetooth programmers and booth PCs on the IT side, keep manufacturer software updates from colliding with each other, secure remote programming sessions and protect the accounts that order devices and file insurance claims.

Hearing clinics and audiology groups in Texas and nationwide get U.S.-based engineers who know why a Noah database matters more than the PC it sits on.

IT that keeps fittings on time, Noah in sync, aids programmed.

Managed IT for audiology clinics where a broken fitting module can cancel an afternoon of appointments.

From booth to fitting

Every fitting depends on a stack of software

A hearing evaluation starts in the sound booth and ends with a patient walking out wearing devices programmed on your PC. Between those moments sit an audiometer interface, Noah, several manufacturer fitting programs, an office management system and ordering portals. Here's what a clinic day leans on, how it gets knocked over, and what we build underneath it.

01 · The pressure

Test results, fitting files and sales in one visit

The audiogram has to land in Noah so the fitting module can calculate gain targets. Fitting sessions save device settings back to the patient file, which you'll need at every follow-up and when a device comes back for repair. Front desk staff check hearing aid benefits, order devices from manufacturer portals and process deposits. If Noah's database is corrupted or the fitting PC won't see the programmer, the patient waits, then leaves without their new aids.

  • Audiograms flowing from booth to Noah
  • Device settings saved for every follow-up
  • Orders and deposits handled at the front desk

02 · How it breaks

Conflicting updates and a database nobody backs up

Manufacturers push fitting software updates on their own schedules, and one update can quietly break a Noah module or a Bluetooth programmer driver. The Noah database often lives on a single front-office PC with no tested backup. Remote fitting sessions run through tools installed in a hurry. Manufacturer ordering portals share one login across the whole staff, and a convincing fake shipping notice collects that password.

  • Fitting updates breaking programmer drivers
  • Noah database on one unprotected PC
  • Shared manufacturer portal passwords

03 · What we change

Controlled updates, a protected Noah, named logins

We move the Noah database to a managed server or Noah's supported cloud option and back it up with versioning off site. Fitting software updates get tested on one workstation before the rest. Booth and fitting PCs sit on their own network segment. Remote programming runs only through the manufacturer's approved tools on managed devices. Staff get named portal accounts, MFA on email and office management software, and a vault for anything shared.

  • Noah database centralized and versioned off site
  • Fitting updates staged before wide release
  • Named, MFA-protected manufacturer portal accounts

04 · The after

Fittings run on schedule and records survive anything

Audiologists sit down and the right module opens with the right programmer connected. Follow-ups pull last month's settings instantly, even if a workstation died last week. Remote adjustments happen without anyone wondering what software was installed. When a manufacturer, payer or insurer asks how patient data is protected, you can show segmentation, MFA and a recent restore test instead of a shrug.

  • Fitting rooms ready when the patient sits down
  • Device history restored after any PC failure
  • Clear answers for payers and insurers

What We Offer

Comprehensive solutions tailored for Houston-area businesses

Noah & Fitting Workstation Support

We keep the Noah database, fitting PCs and manufacturer modules from Phonak, Oticon, Signia, ReSound, Widex and Starkey running together. We stage updates on one machine first, keep a record of which versions work with your programmers, and coordinate with the manufacturer when an issue is inside their software rather than on the PC or network.

Programmer & Bluetooth Device Support

Noahlink Wireless and other programming interfaces depend on drivers, USB ports and Bluetooth stacks that Windows updates can disrupt. We manage those drivers on every fitting PC, keep spare configurations documented and test after each update cycle. When a programmer stops pairing right before a fitting, we know where to look first.

Booth & Audiometer PC Isolation

Computer-based audiometers and real-ear measurement systems often run on PCs the equipment vendor wants left alone. We place them on a restricted network segment, limit what they can reach and add protection within vendor support terms. Calibration and anything inside the audiometer itself stays with the manufacturer or your calibration service.

Remote Programming Security

Remote fitting and teleaudiology sessions let patients get adjustments without a drive. We make sure those sessions run through the manufacturer's approved apps on managed, patched workstations, and we remove generic remote-access tools that were installed for convenience. Clinician accounts for those platforms get MFA wherever the manufacturer supports it.

Office Management System Protection

Sycle, Blueprint OMS and CounselEAR hold patient demographics, purchase history and insurance details. We enforce MFA, review who has admin rights, remove departed staff promptly and make sure local databases or exports are included in backups. Workflow and reporting questions go to the vendor, and we handle the ticket.

Device Ordering & Payment Security

Hearing aid orders, repairs and returns move through manufacturer portals, and patients pay deposits at your counter. We isolate card terminals from clinical PCs, help you document the setup for PCI questions and replace shared portal logins with named accounts so you can see who ordered what.

Why Choose LayerLogix?

Serving businesses throughout the Greater Houston area including Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Atlanta, Nationwide.

Fewer Cancelled Fittings

Tested updates and documented programmer setups mean the fitting room works when the patient arrives. You stop losing afternoons to software conflicts, and audiologists spend appointment time on hearing outcomes rather than reinstalling drivers while the patient watches.

Device History That Survives

With Noah centralized and backed up, a failed PC or ransomware infection doesn't erase years of fitting sessions. Follow-ups, repairs and replacements start from the last known settings, so patients don't have to go through first-fit adjustments all over again.

Remote Care Without Loose Ends

Teleaudiology adjustments run through approved tools on managed computers, so offering remote follow-ups doesn't mean opening a back door. Patients get convenience and you know exactly what software is installed and who can use it.

Cleaner Answers for Partners

Manufacturers, payers and cyber insurers increasingly ask about MFA, backups and access control. Having those controls documented turns a stressful questionnaire into a quick, factual reply and keeps renewals, payer contracts and manufacturer agreements from stalling.

Our Process

1
We inventory fitting PCs, booth equipment, programmers, the Noah database location and every manufacturer and payer portal your staff use.
2
We record which fitting software versions are installed on each workstation and which programmers and drivers each one depends on.
3
We fix urgent gaps: an unbacked Noah database, shared portal passwords, missing MFA and booth PCs sitting on the open network.
4
We centralize Noah, segment booth and fitting workstations, and bring endpoint detection and patching under management.
5
We set up a staged update process for manufacturer software and run a restore test of Noah and office management data.
6
We review new devices, software releases, staffing and any remote care plans with you every quarter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should our Noah database live?▼
Not on the front desk PC by itself. In smaller clinics, Noah often ends up on whatever computer was set up first, and nobody realizes it holds every fitting session. We move it to a managed server, a properly configured network installation or Noah's supported cloud offering, depending on your size and how many locations need it. Wherever it lives, it gets versioned off-site backups and a documented restore test, because losing that database means losing device settings for every patient you've fit.
A manufacturer update broke our fitting software. How do you prevent that?▼
We stop installing every update everywhere at once. New fitting software and Noah module releases go to a single test workstation first, where an audiologist confirms the programmer pairs and a sample session works. Once it checks out, we roll it to the other fitting rooms. We keep notes on which versions and drivers work together, so if something still slips through, we can roll back quickly. Problems inside the manufacturer's software go to their support line with details already gathered.
Is remote hearing aid programming secure?▼
It can be when it runs through the manufacturer's own remote care platform on a managed computer. The risks usually come from shortcuts: generic remote-control tools left installed, clinicians using personal laptops, or shared logins for the remote platform. We standardize on approved apps, remove leftover remote-access software, put MFA on clinician accounts where available and keep those workstations patched. The patient side of the session is handled by the manufacturer's app on their phone.
Do you support Sycle, Blueprint and CounselEAR?▼
Yes, from the IT side. We support the workstations, browsers, printers, scanners and network those systems rely on, and we manage user accounts, MFA and permissions. The vendor supports its own application, including scheduling rules, marketing tools and reporting. When something breaks, we figure out whether it's the software, the PC or the connection, fix what's ours and file a clear ticket with the vendor for the rest. Your office manager doesn't have to diagnose it.
We sell hearing aids at retail. Does PCI DSS apply?▼
If you accept card payments for devices, deposits or batteries, your processor will expect PCI DSS compliance efforts, typically a self-assessment questionnaire. Your scope depends on how card terminals connect and whether card data ever touches your PCs. Using processor-validated terminals on an isolated network usually keeps scope narrow. We set up that separation, document it and help you answer the technical questions. Your processor determines which questionnaire you need.
Can you work on our audiometer and real-ear system?▼
We handle the computer and network side: the PC the software runs on, its connection to Noah, security and backups. The audiometer, real-ear equipment, transducers and calibration stay with the manufacturer or your calibration provider, and we coordinate with them when a problem crosses the line. If the vendor requires an older operating system, we isolate the PC and document the reason for your risk analysis rather than forcing an update that could void support.
