Corporate IT and security that holds up when your sponsor bank sends its questionnaire

Fintech Companies IT Services

Fintech companies get judged on security long before they get big, because sponsor banks, card networks, investors and enterprise customers all want proof that a small team can protect consumer financial data.

SOC 2 Aligned
Responsive Support
20+ Years Experience

At a glance

We run the corporate IT and security layer for fintech startups and scaleups: identity and SSO, device management for Mac and Windows fleets, SaaS access reviews, onboarding and offboarding, endpoint detection and the evidence trail your SOC 2 aligned audit needs.

Your engineering team keeps ownership of the product stack, and we work alongside them on the controls that touch it, like production access and secrets hygiene.

We help map controls to GLBA, PCI DSS 4.0 and NYDFS Part 500 where they apply. We work with fintechs in Texas and nationwide.

IT that keeps bank partners happy, audits on schedule, engineers shipping.

The corporate IT and security layer fintech teams need before the bank partner, the auditor or the Series B diligence team asks.

Inside a fintech

Your security posture is part of the product

A fintech with a small team can be moving real consumer money through a sponsor bank. That bank’s third-party risk team, your SOC 2 auditor and every enterprise prospect will ask the same question in different words: who has access to what, and how do you know? Answering it well is a growth constraint.

01 · The pressure

Partners, auditors and investors all audit you

Your sponsor bank reviews your controls before launch and keeps reviewing them. Card networks and processors expect PCI DSS 4.0 alignment if you touch card data. Enterprise customers send security questionnaires during procurement, and investors run diligence before closing. Meanwhile engineers need fast laptops, admin tools and production access to ship. When a laptop goes missing or a contractor’s account isn’t closed, it shows up in the next audit as an exception, and a serious incident can pause your bank program entirely.

  • Sponsor bank reviews never really end
  • Audit exceptions slow fundraising and sales
  • An incident can pause your bank program

02 · How it breaks

Session theft, SaaS sprawl and forgotten contractors

Fintech incidents rarely start with a dramatic exploit. A developer’s laptop picks up an infostealer from a fake package or browser extension, and session tokens for GitHub, AWS and Slack walk out the door. API keys get committed to a repo. A contractor who left months ago still has an active Google Workspace account. Someone granted a new SaaS tool full access to company email through an OAuth prompt. Support agents with admin rights in the back office get phished.

  • Infostealers lifting developer session tokens
  • Secrets committed to code repositories
  • Contractor accounts nobody closed

03 · What we change

Identity at the center, devices you can prove

We put every app behind SSO with phishing-resistant MFA through Okta, Google Workspace or Entra ID, and automate onboarding and offboarding from your HR system. Macs and Windows laptops are managed through Jamf or Intune with encryption, EDR and patch enforcement, so device posture can gate access. We review OAuth grants and SaaS admin rights, add secrets scanning alongside your engineers, and set least-privilege rules for production and back-office support access, with logging that feeds your audit evidence.

  • SSO with phishing-resistant MFA everywhere
  • Jamf or Intune with posture-based access
  • Secrets scanning and production access rules

04 · The after

Diligence becomes a link, not a project

When the sponsor bank’s third-party risk team asks for evidence, you share an organized folder of access reviews, device reports, offboarding logs and incident response tests. Your SOC 2 aligned audit has fewer exceptions because controls run continuously. Enterprise questionnaires take hours instead of weeks. Engineers get their laptops configured on day one and lose access on their last day. Your security lead can focus on product risk instead of chasing laptop encryption reports.

  • Evidence folder ready for bank reviews
  • Fewer SOC 2 audit exceptions
  • Day-one laptops, last-day offboarding

Systems we keep running

  • Okta
  • Google Workspace
  • Jamf Pro
  • GitHub
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Slack
  • Plaid

Rules we help you meet

  • Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and FTC Safeguards Rule (16 CFR 314), for non-bank financial companies
  • PCI DSS 4.0 (if you store, process or transmit card data)
  • NYDFS 23 NYCRR Part 500 (New York licensees)
  • Interagency Guidance on Third-Party Relationships (via sponsor banks)
  • State data breach notification laws

What We Offer

Comprehensive solutions tailored for Houston-area businesses

Identity and SSO Administration

We run Okta, Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID as your identity backbone: SSO for every SaaS app that supports it, phishing-resistant MFA with passkeys or security keys, group-based access tied to roles, and automated provisioning from your HR platform. Quarterly access reviews are generated, sent to owners and filed as audit evidence.

Mac and Windows Fleet Management

Engineers want Macs, finance wants Windows, and auditors want proof of both. We manage the fleet through Jamf Pro or Intune with full-disk encryption, EDR, OS update enforcement, screen lock and remote wipe, and connect device compliance to conditional access so unmanaged or out-of-date machines can’t reach sensitive systems.

SaaS and OAuth Governance

Fintech teams adopt tools fast. We inventory your SaaS apps, review admin roles and third-party OAuth grants to email and storage, remove risky or unused connections, and set an approval process for new tools. That inventory feeds your vendor management program and the third-party sections of every questionnaire you answer.

Production and Back-Office Access Controls

Working with your engineering leadership, we help define who can reach production data and admin consoles, how access is requested and approved, and how it’s logged and reviewed. We support just-in-time elevation, separate admin accounts and secrets scanning in repositories, while your engineers keep full ownership of the product infrastructure itself.

Audit and Bank Partner Evidence

We map corporate IT controls to SOC 2 criteria and the security expectations sponsor banks set under their third-party risk programs, then collect evidence continuously: access reviews, device compliance, onboarding and offboarding records, backup tests and incident response exercises. Your compliance lead gets one organized source of truth.

Detection and Incident Response

Endpoint and identity signals feed managed detection and response with 24/7 SOC monitoring, focused on infostealers, session token theft and suspicious admin activity. Our engineers handle follow-up during business hours, with after-hours emergency response for active incidents, and we prepare the timeline your counsel and bank partner will need.

Bank Partner Reviews Go Smoother

Sponsor banks expect their fintech partners to manage access, devices and vendors carefully. With continuous evidence and a named contact who can join review calls, you spend less time on remediation plans and more time launching programs.

Engineers Keep Shipping

Automated onboarding, pre-configured laptops and fast help desk support during business hours mean new hires are productive on day one. Security controls get designed with engineers, not imposed on them, so they don’t create workarounds that become audit findings.

Cleaner Audits, Faster Sales

Continuously collected evidence reduces SOC 2 exceptions and makes enterprise security questionnaires routine. Your sales cycle doesn’t stall waiting on a security answer, and your compliance lead isn’t rebuilding the same spreadsheet every quarter. Prospects notice.

Offboarding That Actually Finishes

When someone leaves, automated deprovisioning cuts SSO, revokes sessions, removes SaaS accounts and wipes the laptop. No orphaned contractor accounts show up in your next access review, and you have a log proving when access ended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you manage our cloud infrastructure and product security?▼
Not by default. Most fintechs want their engineering team to own AWS, GCP or Azure infrastructure and application security, because it’s tightly tied to the product. We own the corporate layer: identity, devices, SaaS, email, offboarding, detection and evidence. Where those overlap, like production access, secrets scanning and logging, we work alongside your engineers with a clear split of responsibilities. If you want co-managed help on cloud infrastructure, we can scope that separately.
What will our sponsor bank ask about IT security?▼
Banks manage fintech partners under their third-party risk programs, shaped by the federal banking agencies’ interagency guidance on third-party relationships. Expect questions about information security policies, access management and reviews, MFA, device management, encryption, vendor management, incident response, business continuity and testing. Many also ask for a SOC 2 report or equivalent. We help you build controls that answer those questions honestly and keep evidence current, so each review isn’t a fresh scramble.
Which regulations apply to a fintech?▼
It depends on what you do and where you’re licensed. If you’re a non-bank handling consumer financial information, the GLBA and FTC Safeguards Rule likely apply. Touching card data brings PCI DSS 4.0 into scope. A New York license, such as for money transmission or virtual currency, makes you a covered entity under NYDFS Part 500. Your sponsor bank’s contract may add its own requirements. Your counsel should confirm the list; we map your corporate IT controls to it.
Our engineers all use Macs. Can you manage them properly?▼
Yes. We manage Macs through Jamf Pro or Intune with automated enrollment, so a new MacBook ships straight to an engineer and configures itself on first login. We enforce FileVault encryption, OS updates, EDR, firewall and screen lock, and we handle developer realities like Homebrew, local admin requests and Docker without crippling productivity. Mac and Windows devices get the same standards, which is what auditors look for. New hires get the same setup every time.
How do you help with SOC 2?▼
We build and run the corporate IT controls that make up a large part of a SOC 2 audit: access provisioning and reviews, MFA, device management, change management for IT systems, backups, monitoring and incident response. Evidence gets collected continuously throughout your audit window. We aim for SOC 2 aligned controls and work with whatever compliance automation platform you use. Your CPA firm performs the audit; SOC 2 produces an auditor’s report, not a badge, so we describe controls as SOC 2 aligned until that report exists.
We’re small. Is this overkill for a seed-stage company?▼
Not if you’re touching consumer money or bank partners. Setting up identity, device management and offboarding correctly while you’re small is far easier than retrofitting after a hiring wave, and your first bank partner will ask anyway. We scale the program to your stage: SSO, MDM, EDR and an evidence folder first, then deeper controls as your programs and audits grow. The goal is that security never becomes the reason a launch slips.
Do you provide Fintech Companies IT Services in Houston and nearby areas?▼
Yes. LayerLogix is based in the Greater Houston area and delivers fintech companies IT services to businesses across Houston and the surrounding communities, including The Woodlands, Spring, Katy, Sugar Land, Conroe, Cypress, and Pearland. Call 713-571-2390 to check coverage for your specific address.
What does Fintech Companies IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
