Can you support our digital X-ray and in-office MRI equipment?▼
We support the IT side: the network the modalities sit on, the path to your PACS, viewing workstations, storage and backup. The acquisition PC and imaging software inside the modality are usually controlled by the manufacturer, and changes there can affect calibration or the service contract. So we isolate those devices on their own segment, document their operating system and patch status, and coordinate with the vendor when an update or repair is needed. That keeps images moving without anyone voiding a warranty.
Our surgeons want to see images and charts on their phones. Is that safe?▼
It can be, with the right controls. We use mobile device management or app protection policies so practice apps require MFA, practice data can't be copied into personal apps, and that data can be wiped remotely without touching the surgeon's personal photos. Image viewing goes through your PACS vendor's secure viewer, not texted screenshots. We document the setup in your risk analysis so you can show how provider mobility is controlled if a payer or auditor asks.
We get a lot of records requests from attorneys and workers' comp carriers. Any special risk?▼
Yes. Records departments in orthopedics are prime targets because a fake subpoena or IME request looks routine. We tune your email filtering for those patterns, sandbox attachments and add banners on external mail. We also help set up a secure release portal or encrypted delivery, so your staff never have to email chart PDFs. Training focuses on the actual requests your team handles, including how to verify an unfamiliar law firm or adjuster by phone before sending anything.
We are adding an ambulatory surgery center. How does IT change?▼
An ASC adds anesthesia records, surgical scheduling, sterile processing tracking and often separate licensing and accreditation reviews. Clinically it needs higher availability, since you can't pause a case for a frozen workstation. We design the ASC network as its own segment with redundant connectivity, plan downtime procedures for the OR, and keep anesthesia and monitoring equipment isolated, coordinating any changes inside that equipment with its manufacturer. We also make sure access between the clinic EHR and the ASC system follows role-based rules.
Do you handle IT for our physical therapy and bracing departments too?▼
Yes, and they often get overlooked. Therapy teams document on tablets between sessions, and bracing staff may use separate inventory or billing software. We bring those devices under the same management, encryption and patching as the rest of the practice, connect them to the right network segment and make sure their software vendors' remote access goes through controlled, logged sessions. That way the PT gym isn't the weak link in an otherwise well-protected network.
Where are your engineers, and can you support multiple clinic locations?▼
Most of our support is remote, handled by U.S.-based engineers who can reach every location from day one. When something needs hands-on attention, such as a failed switch or a new imaging room, we do it locally near our offices or dispatch a vetted local technician who works under our engineer's direction. That model works well for orthopedic groups with a main clinic, satellite offices and therapy sites spread across a region, and we serve practices in Texas and nationwide.
Do you provide Orthopedic Practices IT Services in Houston and nearby areas?▼
Yes. LayerLogix is based in the Greater Houston area and delivers orthopedic practices IT services to businesses across Houston and the surrounding communities, including The Woodlands, Spring, Katy, Sugar Land, Conroe, Cypress, and Pearland. For most Houston-area clients we can be on-site the same day when something needs hands-on attention, and our help desk is available during business hours, with after-hours emergency support. Call 713-571-2390 to check coverage for your specific address.
What does Orthopedic Practices IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
