Concrete Contractors IT Services

Concrete is unforgiving: once the trucks are batched, a pour happens whether the office systems are working or not.

At a glance

Foremen order loads from their phones before sunrise, superintendents check layouts and embeds on tablets, and the office tracks cylinder break reports, silica exposure records and pay apps against tight retainage.

We run and secure the IT behind that pace: managed phones and tablets for field crews, backups for estimating and takeoff data, organized storage for test reports and shop drawings, and the email and payment controls that stop fake invoices from draining a job.

We support flatwork, foundation, tilt-wall and structural concrete contractors in Texas and nationwide.

IT that keeps pours on time, breaks on file, retainage coming.

Field phones, takeoffs, test reports and pay apps handled for flatwork, foundation, tilt-wall and structural concrete crews.

Concrete contractors

Batch ticket to final break

A concrete job is a series of short, expensive windows. Forms and rebar get inspected, trucks get ordered, the pour happens and the crew finishes before the slab sets. Afterward, test results and paperwork decide whether you get paid. Your IT has to work at five in the morning and again at month-end billing.

01 · The pressure

Trucks batched at 5 a.m. don't wait

On pour day, the foreman confirms loads with the ready-mix supplier, checks the latest layout and embed plan, and coordinates the pump. Estimators keep takeoffs in STACK or PlanSwift, and PMs track rebar and post-tension shop drawings. After the pour, cylinder break reports come back from the testing lab. If a phone dies, a layout is outdated or a report disappears, the cost shows up as rework or a held payment.

  • Loads ordered from a phone before sunrise
  • Layouts and embed plans checked on tablets
  • Cylinder break reports tied to payment

02 · How it breaks

A fake supplier invoice and a stale layout

Concrete subs move a lot of money through a few inboxes. An attacker gets into the office manager's email and sends a supplier-style invoice with new bank details. Meanwhile, a superintendent's tablet still holds last month's layout because it never synced, so anchor bolts land in the wrong spot. Crew phones are personal devices with no passcode, and a foreman who quit still has access to the project app.

  • Supplier invoices forged from a hijacked mailbox
  • Tablets showing outdated layouts
  • Departed foremen still in project apps

03 · What we change

Managed devices and verified payments

We enroll company and personal field devices in management, so work apps and files stay encrypted and can be removed when someone leaves. Project folders sync the current layout and shop drawings automatically, with version history. Email and accounting get MFA, and a call-back rule applies to any supplier banking change. Test reports, silica records and daily logs go into backed-up, organized storage instead of scattered inboxes.

  • Field devices enrolled and encrypted
  • Auto-synced layouts with version history
  • Call-back rule for supplier bank changes

04 · The after

Paperwork that gets you paid

When a GC questions a slab, you pull the break reports, pour logs and approved layout in minutes. A foreman who leaves loses access to every app the same afternoon. Your controller pays suppliers knowing a bank change triggers a phone call. And when an insurer or a GC's prequalification form asks about MFA and backups, you have a short, honest answer.

  • Break reports and pour logs found in minutes
  • Same-day removal for departing crew
  • Honest answers for prequal forms

What We Offer

Comprehensive solutions tailored for Houston-area businesses

Field Phone and Tablet Management

Foremen and supers run the job from their phones. We enroll company and personal devices in management, keep work apps and files in an encrypted container, push updates and let you remove company data from a departing employee's phone without touching their personal photos or texts.

Takeoff and Estimating Support

Estimators depend on STACK, PlanSwift or Bluebeam takeoffs and the pricing data behind them. We back up estimating files and databases nightly, track license renewals and keep workstations fast enough for large plan sets, so a crash the night before a bid doesn't sink it.

Layout and Shop Drawing Sync

Rebar, post-tension and embed drawings change during a job. We set up shared project folders with version history that sync automatically to field tablets, so the crew sets anchor bolts and sleeves from the current revision instead of whatever happened to download last week. Superseded sheets get marked clearly.

Test Report and Silica Record Storage

Cylinder break reports, maturity data, daily pour logs and silica exposure control records need to be found quickly when someone asks. We organize them in backed-up, searchable storage with sensible permissions, and keep copies off-site so a deleted folder or failed laptop doesn't erase a job's history.

Supplier and Payroll Fraud Protection

Ready-mix, rebar and pump invoices plus weekly payroll make your office a target. We protect email and accounting with MFA, flag lookalike domains, add a call-back rule for banking changes and watch for payroll direct-deposit change requests that come only by email. Two people approve any change to payee details.

Sensor and Project App Account Control

Maturity sensors, project management platforms and supplier ordering apps each have their own logins. We set up named accounts with MFA where offered, keep a list of who has access to what, and remove departing staff everywhere at once. Sensor hardware and firmware stay with the manufacturer.

Why Choose LayerLogix?

Serving businesses throughout the Greater Houston area including Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Atlanta, Nationwide.

Less Rework From Outdated Drawings

When the field always has the current layout, embeds and sleeves end up where the engineer put them. That means fewer core drills, fewer patched slabs and fewer arguments with the GC about who pays to fix them.

Faster Payment and Retainage Release

Organized break reports, logs and approvals make closeout simpler. When the GC or owner asks for documentation, you send it the same day, which takes away one of the common reasons retainage sits unpaid for months.

Crew Turnover Without Data Leaks

Concrete crews change often. Managed devices and a single access list mean a foreman who leaves takes his phone but not your project files, supplier accounts or layout drawings, and you don't have to chase down every app separately.

Better Answers for Insurers and GCs

Cyber insurers and larger general contractors ask subcontractors about MFA, backups and training. Being able to answer clearly can affect whether you get coverage and whether you stay on the bid list for bigger projects.

Our Process

1
Meet with your office manager, an estimator and a superintendent to map pour-day apps, takeoff data, test reports and payment workflows.
2
Enroll company and personal field devices in management, then set up encrypted work containers and remote removal for departing staff.
3
Build shared project folders that sync layouts, shop drawings and RFIs to tablets, with version history and a clear approved-drawings folder.
4
Back up estimating and takeoff data, test reports, silica records and daily logs off-site, then restore a sample job to verify.
5
Turn on MFA for email, accounting and project apps, add anti-spoofing to your domain and set a call-back rule for banking changes.
6
Provide day-to-day help desk support, patch devices and review app access every quarter and whenever a foreman or PM leaves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our foremen use their own phones. Can you manage them without invading their privacy?▼
Yes. For personal phones, we use a work-profile approach that manages only company apps and data, such as email, the project app and drawing files. We can require a passcode, keep work files encrypted and remove them when someone leaves, but we can't see personal photos, texts or browsing. For company-owned phones and tablets, full management makes sense, including remote wipe and app control. Most concrete contractors end up with a mix, and we set policies so foremen know exactly what the company can and can't see.
What silica records do we need to keep, and where?▼
OSHA's respirable crystalline silica standard for construction requires a written exposure control plan and, depending on how you comply, records such as exposure assessments and medical surveillance. Your safety director or consultant decides what applies to your crews. The IT side is making sure those records are stored where authorized people can find them quickly, backed up off-site and protected, especially medical information, which should be restricted to the few people who need it. We set up that storage and permissions so an OSHA visit doesn't turn into a search through old email.
Can you connect our maturity sensors to our systems?▼
We help with the IT side: the accounts, phones and tablets that read the sensors, the shared storage where you keep the exported data and the network or cellular connection in the field office. We don't configure sensor firmware or change how the hardware calculates strength. That stays with the sensor manufacturer and your quality team. What we focus on is making sure sensor data and the decisions based on it, such as when to strip forms or stress tendons, are saved and backed up with the rest of the job record.
Should we train crews on phishing even if they rarely use email?▼
Yes, but keep it short and practical. Field crews get texts and app notifications more than email, and attackers use both. A fake text asking a foreman to confirm a load or update direct-deposit details works just as well as an email. We run brief training in English and Spanish focused on what your people actually see: payment requests, password reset messages, delivery notices and calls asking for codes. Office staff get more thorough training because they handle invoices, payroll and banking.
A supplier emailed new bank details. What should our office do?▼
Don't change anything based on the email alone. Call the supplier at a phone number you already have on file, not one in the message, and confirm the change with someone you know. Then have a second person approve the change in accounting. If you already paid to the new account, call your bank immediately, because speed matters. We help by protecting your mailbox with MFA, flagging lookalike sender domains and checking for forwarding rules or suspicious logins that suggest your own account was the source.
Do you work with concrete contractors outside your area?▼
Yes. Device management, backups, email security, account setup and help desk support all happen remotely through our U.S.-based engineers. When a job trailer or office needs hands-on work, such as installing a firewall or a cellular router, we handle it near our offices or direct a vetted local technician. Our engineers work business hours with after-hours emergency response for active incidents, so a security problem at night doesn't have to wait until the morning pour.
Do you provide Concrete Contractors IT Services in Houston and nearby areas?▼
Yes. LayerLogix is based in the Greater Houston area and delivers concrete contractors IT services to businesses across Houston and the surrounding communities, including The Woodlands, Spring, Katy, Sugar Land, Conroe, Cypress, and Pearland. For most Houston-area clients we can be on-site the same day when something needs hands-on attention, and our help desk is available during business hours, with after-hours emergency support. Call 713-571-2390 to check coverage for your specific address.
What does Concrete Contractors IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
