eDiscovery & Litigation Support IT Services

eDiscovery providers hold the unfiltered data of other people’s lawsuits: entire mailboxes, phone extractions, HR files and trade secrets collected from custodians who never expected anyone outside their company to read them.

20+ Years Experience

At a glance

Law firms and corporate legal teams hand you that data under protective orders and expect clean chain of custody, tight review access and productions that go only where they should.

A breach or a misdirected production can trigger sanctions motions, privilege fights and lost clients overnight.

We run IT and cybersecurity for eDiscovery service providers, litigation support departments, managed review companies and forensic collection shops.

That covers processing infrastructure, review platform access, evidence storage and remote reviewers. We support teams in Texas and nationwide.

IT that keeps custody unbroken, reviewers contained, productions exact.

Security for eDiscovery teams trusted with complete mailboxes, phone images and privileged files from every case they touch.

Inside an eDiscovery shop

You hold the raw data of every case at once

Collections arrive on encrypted drives or by secure transfer. Your team logs custody, processes and indexes terabytes, loads review workspaces and manages contract reviewers coding documents for privilege and responsiveness. Then productions get assembled, Bates-stamped and sent. Every stage involves data that belongs to someone else and rules about who may see it.

01 · The pressure

Production deadlines and protective orders on every matter

Courts set production dates, and law firm clients push review timelines hard. Processing servers and review platforms have to run at full speed through overnight jobs and weekend surges. Each matter carries a protective order defining who may view confidential and attorneys’-eyes-only material. A misdirected production, an exposed workspace or a lost drive can mean clawback fights, sanctions motions and a client asking whether any other matter was affected.

  • Court deadlines leave no room for downtime
  • Protective orders define who may see what
  • One incident puts every hosted matter in question

02 · How it breaks

Reviewer laptops, stale workspaces and loose drives

A remote contract reviewer works from a personal laptop and screenshots documents. Workspaces from matters that settled long ago still have active users. Collection drives sit in a cabinet anyone can open, tracked on a paper custody log. A project manager emails a production link to the wrong firm’s paralegal. An admin account on the processing server has no MFA and gets phished. A reviewer’s session token is stolen through a malicious browser extension.

  • Contract reviewers on personal laptops
  • Closed matters with users still active
  • Evidence drives tracked on a paper log

03 · What we change

Contained review, tracked evidence and gated productions

Contract reviewers work through managed virtual desktops with copy, print and screenshot controls, or company devices locked to the review platform. Workspace access gets tied to matter assignments with automatic expiration. Evidence drives get encrypted, barcoded and tracked in a digital custody log inside a controlled room. Admin accounts on processing and hosting infrastructure move behind privileged access management. Productions go out through a gated transfer with a second-person recipient check.

  • Virtual desktops for every contract reviewer
  • Digital custody logs for evidence media
  • Second-person checks before productions leave

04 · The after

Client audits become a tour, not an interrogation

When a law firm’s security team or a corporate client’s legal operations group audits you, you show them reviewer containment, matter-based access, custody records and production approvals. Reviewers can start a project the day they’re onboarded without shipping data to their homes. Closed matters get archived or destroyed on schedule. And if a court asks how data moved, your logs tell the story from collection to production.

  • Audits walk through real controls and logs
  • New reviewers productive without data at home
  • Closed matters archived or destroyed on schedule

What We Offer

Comprehensive solutions tailored for Houston-area businesses

Contract Reviewer Containment

Managed review brings in temporary attorneys working from anywhere. We deliver review access through virtual desktops or managed devices with copy, paste, print, download and screenshot restrictions, session watermarks and conditional access, so reviewers see documents without ever holding them, and access ends cleanly when the project wraps up.

Review Platform Access Governance

Whether you host Relativity, run on a SaaS platform or both, user sprawl builds fast. We tie workspace permissions to matter assignments and protective order tiers, enforce MFA and single sign-on, review users against active projects on a schedule and alert when someone accesses a workspace they haven’t touched before.

Evidence Intake and Chain of Custody

Collection media and transfers need a clean trail. We set up an access-controlled evidence room, encryption for every drive, a digital custody log with barcodes or tags, hashing verification on intake and secure destruction records, so you can show exactly who handled each item and when.

Processing Infrastructure Support

Processing and analytics servers chew through huge volumes and need careful care. We monitor capacity and performance, patch on schedules that avoid running jobs, protect storage with immutable backups and segment processing networks from general office systems, so a phished laptop can’t reach the servers holding every client’s data.

Gated Production Delivery

Productions are where a single typo becomes an incident. We set up secure transfer with per-recipient accounts, expiring links, encryption, download logs and a required second-person check of the recipient and volume before anything goes out, plus a quick recall procedure if a link is sent to the wrong party.

Privileged Admin Protection

Platform and storage administrators can see everything. We move admin accounts to separate, MFA-protected identities with just-in-time elevation, log administrative actions, limit admin access to hardened workstations and review privileged roles regularly, so one stolen credential doesn’t expose your entire hosted portfolio or every client’s data at once.

Win More Security Reviews

Law firms and corporate legal departments vet eDiscovery vendors carefully. Documented reviewer containment, access governance and custody controls help you pass those reviews faster and compete for matters with demanding clients who send long security questionnaires.

Scale Review Teams Safely

Virtual desktops and managed devices let you onboard contract reviewers quickly for a surge project without shipping data to homes or trusting personal laptops. When the project ends, access ends, and nothing stays behind on someone’s hard drive.

Defensible Chain of Custody

Digital custody logs, hashing and access-controlled evidence storage give your clients a clean record they can rely on if authenticity or handling is ever challenged. Your project managers answer custody questions with records instead of memory.

Fewer Production Mistakes

Second-person recipient checks, per-recipient accounts and expiring links catch the misdirected production before it becomes a clawback letter or a sanctions motion. If something still slips, logs and recall procedures limit the damage quickly. Project managers stop dreading the send button on deadline night.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you perform forensic collections or testify about them?▼
No. Forensic collection, analysis and expert testimony belong to qualified examiners, whether on your staff or outside specialists. We run the IT and security that surrounds that work: the evidence room controls, encrypted storage, custody logging systems, processing infrastructure, review platform access and production delivery. Keeping those roles separate also keeps your examiners’ testimony cleaner, because the infrastructure they rely on is documented and maintained independently. When an examiner needs a new workstation, storage or network change, we build it to their spec.
How do we let contract reviewers work remotely without data leaving our control?▼
Deliver the review platform through a managed virtual desktop or a company device locked to it. Reviewers see and code documents, but copying, downloading, printing and screenshots are blocked or logged, and screens can carry a watermark with their name. Conditional access checks device health and location. When the project ends, we disable the account and the virtual desktop, and there’s nothing to recover from their home computer. Reviewers also get a quick, predictable onboarding instead of a shipped laptop and a long setup call.
Our Relativity environment is full of old workspaces. Where do we start?▼
Start with access, not storage. We pull a list of every active user and every workspace, match them to open matters and protective order tiers, and disable anyone without a current assignment. Then we work with your project managers and clients to archive or destroy closed matters according to their instructions. Once the cleanup is done, automatic expiration on new workspace assignments keeps it from piling up again. Storage costs usually drop as a side effect, which helps make the case internally.
What should happen if a production goes to the wrong recipient?▼
Act quickly. Disable the transfer link or account, check the download logs to see whether files were accessed, and tell the responsible attorney right away so they can send a clawback or sequestration request under the protective order and any FRE 502(d) order in place. Legal decisions belong to counsel. We then review what failed and tighten the gate, usually with a required second-person check and per-recipient accounts. The fix is usually small, and it matters most on deadline nights.
We process data containing medical records. Does HIPAA apply to us?▼
It can. If you handle protected health information on behalf of a healthcare client or their counsel under a business associate agreement, the HIPAA Security Rule applies to that data. Even without a BAA, protective orders often require similar safeguards. We help you identify matters with health data, apply stricter access and logging to those workspaces and document safeguards that support HIPAA requirements for clients who ask. Health data in a mixed production also gets flagged so reviewers know to treat it with extra care.
Can you help us answer law firm security questionnaires?▼
Yes. eDiscovery vendor questionnaires go deep: encryption, reviewer controls, admin access, logging, data destruction, incident response, subcontractors and physical security. We help you put the controls in place, maintain an evidence library and draft accurate technical answers your leadership signs off on. If you’re pursuing SOC 2, we help you build controls that are SOC 2 aligned and support your auditor’s requests without overstating anything. Honest answers age better than optimistic ones when a client audits you later.

What does eDiscovery & Litigation Support IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼

We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
