We’re a small studio. Do we really need cybersecurity?▼
Small studios are attractive targets because they move real money with few checks. A single spoofed vendor invoice can wipe out a project’s margin, and a hijacked Instagram account can stall new business for weeks. The essentials aren’t complicated: MFA on email, banking and social media, a password manager, a callback rule for bank changes, managed devices and backups. We set those up at a scale that fits a studio, without enterprise overhead.
How do we protect our Instagram from being hacked?▼
Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app rather than text messages, and save the backup codes in a password manager. Limit who has admin access through Meta Business Suite and give team members their own roles instead of sharing the main login. Be skeptical of messages offering brand collaborations, copyright warnings or verification badges, which are common takeover lures. We set all of this up and keep an inventory of who has access to each account.
How should we handle sensitive details about clients’ homes?▼
Keep them in restricted project folders that only the assigned designers can open, not in group texts, personal photo libraries or shared social media drafts. When contractors or installers need plans, share them through expiring links rather than email attachments. Avoid posting photos that reveal addresses, security features or identifiable exteriors without client approval. We configure the storage and sharing, and help you write a short privacy practice your team follows on every project.
Our designers use Macs and iPads. Can you support that?▼
Yes, and we support them to the same standard as Windows. We enroll Macs and iPads in device management for updates, encryption and remote wipe, manage Adobe, SketchUp and other app licenses, and troubleshoot printers, plotters and fonts across platforms. Designers who prefer Windows get the same care. Mixed studios are common in design, and nobody should get slower help because of the device they choose. Fonts and plug-ins follow designers between devices too.
A vendor emailed new bank details. What should we do?▼
Don’t pay until you’ve confirmed by phone using a number you already have for that vendor, not one from the email. Look closely at the sender address for small misspellings. If anything seems off, ask your IT provider to check the message headers. Make this a standing rule for everyone who handles payments, and require a second person to approve large orders. Most vendor payment fraud is stopped by one phone call.
Do we need to worry about PCI if clients pay by card?▼
If you accept card payments, PCI DSS applies to how those payments are handled. Most studios reduce their scope by using hosted payment links or the payment processing built into Studio Designer, QuickBooks or their processor, so card numbers never touch their own systems. Avoid writing card numbers down or taking them by email. We help you set up payments so your studio’s PCI obligations stay as small as possible, usually a short self-assessment.

What does Interior Design Firms IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
