Can you set up alerts for our vaccine refrigerator?▼
Yes. Most practices already use digital data loggers, and many also have networked sensors. We connect them to an alerting service that calls or texts on-call staff when temperatures go out of range, test that alerts actually arrive and make sure the sensor network stays up during power or internet interruptions. We don't service the refrigerators or calibrate loggers; those stay with the manufacturers. Your vaccine coordinator decides who responds and what the response procedure is.
How should portal access work for teenagers?▼
That's a clinical and legal policy decision, and it varies by state and by type of care. Many practices limit parent proxy access to certain information once a child reaches a set age, and keep confidential adolescent visits out of the proxy view. We help you translate your policy into EHR and portal settings, working with your clinical lead and the EHR vendor, and we test the configuration with sample accounts. Your counsel and compliance lead decide what the policy should be.
Do you support Office Practicum and PCC?▼
We support the infrastructure both depend on: workstations, network, printers, scanners, accounts and security. Office Practicum and PCC handle their own applications, including templates, billing rules and registry interfaces on their side. When something breaks, we figure out whether it's the computer, the network or the software, fix what's ours and open a clear ticket with the vendor if it's theirs. That saves your nurses and front desk from relaying the same problem to several support lines.
What happens when a parent with restricted access calls or logs in?▼
That depends on how custody and access restrictions are recorded and enforced in your EHR and portal. Technically, we help make sure restrictions documented by your staff actually apply to portal proxy access and that front-desk staff can see clear flags. We also review how proxy accounts are created so a restricted parent can't simply register again. Decisions about what a specific parent may access rest with your practice leadership and counsel, based on the legal documents you have.
Our screening tablets keep getting used for games. Can you lock them down?▼
Yes. We enroll the tablets in device management and run them in a kiosk mode that only opens the screening app. Browsers, app stores and settings are disabled, sessions clear between families and the tablets sit on a network segment isolated from your clinical systems. If a tablet goes missing, we can lock and wipe it remotely. Kids will still try, but they won't get anywhere, and the next family won't see someone else's answers.
How do you help us during flu season and back-to-school rush?▼
We plan for it before it arrives. That means checking workstation and printer readiness for heavy form printing, making sure phone queues and callback settings can handle volume spikes, confirming backup internet works and scheduling updates outside your busiest weeks. If you run vaccine clinics in other rooms or locations, we set up the network and devices in advance. During the rush, monitoring watches for problems so we can fix them before they affect a packed schedule.

What does Pediatric Practices IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
