Agents, headsets and client data, secured from the floor to the home office

Call Centers & BPOs IT Services

A contact center's product is a conversation, and every one of those conversations can carry card numbers, account details or health information belonging to someone else's customers.

At a glance

Agents turn over quickly, many work from home and the people on the other end of the line are sometimes the attackers.

We run IT and security for in-house contact centers, BPOs and answering services: the CCaaS platform and its integrations, locked-down agent desktops, client-by-client separation and the payment flows that pull your environment into PCI scope.

We support operations in Texas and nationwide, with U.S.-based engineers handling the help desk, device builds and security monitoring remotely during business hours.

IT that keeps queues answered, agents logged in, card data out of scope.

Hundreds of agents, a dozen client programs and one bad caller can test all of it. We build the floor to hold.

Contact center IT

Every call is a chance for a stranger to get in

Contact centers run on staffing plans, service levels and client scorecards. The technology underneath has to onboard agents in waves, keep every client's data in its own lane and survive callers who are trying to talk their way past security. Here's how that plays out and what we change.

01 · The pressure

Service levels collapse when one system stalls

A morning surge hits, and every agent needs the softphone, the CRM, the knowledge base and the client's own web tools working at once. A training class of new hires starts Monday and needs accounts, desktops and headsets by 8 a.m. Clients measure you on answer time and handle time, and they read their contracts closely when something goes wrong. An outage burns penalties, and a breach of client customer data can end the program outright.

  • Softphone, CRM and client tools all needed at once
  • New-hire classes need access on day one
  • Client contracts punish outages and leaks

02 · How it breaks

Social engineering runs in both directions

Callers impersonate customers to get an agent to reset a password or change an address, then take over the account. Insiders photograph screens with card numbers on a personal phone. Home agents connect from shared family PCs or keep using credentials weeks after leaving. A supervisor's reused password opens the CCaaS admin console, where call recordings sit unencrypted. Agents reading card numbers aloud drag every desktop, recording and network segment into PCI scope.

  • Callers talking agents into account takeovers
  • Phones and screenshots capturing card data
  • Former agents with access that never closed

03 · What we change

Locked desktops, scoped programs, payments off the line

We build agent desktops as locked, managed images or virtual desktops with no local storage, USB or personal browsing. Each client program gets its own groups, data paths and recording policy. CCaaS admin access requires phishing-resistant MFA. We work with your platform provider to route payments through DTMF masking or a secure IVR so agents never hear or see full card numbers. Identity verification scripts get tightened, and accounts close automatically when HR terminates an agent.

  • Hardened agent images or virtual desktops
  • Per-client groups, data paths and recordings
  • DTMF masking to keep card data off the desktop

04 · The after

Client audits become a walkthrough, not an inquisition

When a client's security team audits the program, you show them per-client separation, desktop controls, access reviews and how payments stay out of agents' hands. Your PCI assessment covers a much smaller footprint. Supervisors stop worrying about phones on the floor turning into a breach. New classes start on time because provisioning is a repeatable process, and departed agents lose access the same day.

  • Per-client controls you can demonstrate
  • A smaller PCI footprint to assess
  • Same-day agent onboarding and offboarding

What We Offer

Comprehensive solutions tailored for Houston-area businesses

Agent Desktop Lockdown

We build standard agent images, physical or virtual, with only the applications each program needs. USB storage, local downloads, screen capture tools and personal browsing are blocked, and endpoint detection watches every session. Image updates roll out to the whole floor at once, so a patch or a new client tool reaches hundreds of seats in a single change window.

Remote Agent Security

Work-from-home agents need the same controls as the floor without a technician visiting each house. We ship managed devices or deliver virtual desktops with conditional access, block connections from unmanaged PCs and verify that home networks meet a minimum standard. If an agent leaves, their session and device access end immediately and the hardware return is tracked.

PCI Scope Reduction for Phone Payments

Taking card numbers over the phone can pull agents, recordings and networks into PCI DSS 4.0 scope. We work with your CCaaS or payment provider to implement DTMF masking or secure IVR handoff, confirm recordings pause or never capture card data and document the reduced scope for your assessor. Your QSA confirms the final scope.

Client Program Separation

BPOs carry several clients' customers at once, and each client expects its data to stay walled off. We design separate security groups, application access, file locations and recording retention per program, plus restricted supervisor access across programs. That separation is what you show a client's auditor when they ask who else can see their customers.

Contact Center Platform Administration Security

The CCaaS admin console controls routing, recordings and integrations with CRMs and ticketing tools. We enforce MFA and least-privilege roles for admins and supervisors, review API keys and integrations, enable audit logging and help set recording retention and encryption settings that match each client contract.

Wave Onboarding and Same-Day Offboarding

Contact centers hire in classes and lose agents every week. We connect account provisioning to your HR or workforce management system so a new class gets accounts, licenses and desktops ready on day one, and terminations disable every login, from the softphone to client web portals, the same day HR records them.

Keep Client Programs Through Audit Season

Clients renew BPO contracts partly on how well you protect their customers. Being able to demonstrate separation, desktop controls and access reviews keeps programs renewing and makes it easier to win clients in regulated industries.

A Smaller, Cheaper PCI Assessment

When card data never reaches agent desktops, recordings or most of your network, far less of the environment needs to be assessed and maintained under PCI DSS. That means less work at each assessment and fewer controls to babysit all year.

Fewer Account Takeovers Through Your Agents

Tighter caller verification, scripts that resist pressure and restricted agent permissions make it harder for fraudsters to use your floor as a side door into your clients' customer accounts, which is exactly what clients worry about most.

Classes Start on Time

When provisioning is automated and desktop images are ready, a training class doesn't lose its first morning to login problems. That protects ramp schedules, the staffing plan and the service levels you promised the client.

Our Process

1
Walk the floor and the remote program: CCaaS platform, CRM and client tools, agent devices, recordings, payment handling and how each client's data flows.
2
Map where card data, health information and other regulated data appear in calls, screens, recordings and logs, by client program.
3
Design per-program separation and a hardened agent desktop or virtual desktop image, then pilot it with one client program and team.
4
Work with your platform and payment providers to move phone payments to DTMF masking or secure IVR and document the reduced PCI scope.
5
Connect provisioning and termination to HR or workforce management, and lock down admin and supervisor access with phishing-resistant MFA.
6
Review access, recordings and desktop drift monthly, and prepare evidence packages ahead of each client audit and PCI assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you work with Five9, Genesys Cloud, NICE CXone or our current platform?▼
Yes. We don't replace your contact center platform; we secure how people reach it and what surrounds it. That covers admin and supervisor roles, MFA, single sign-on, integrations with your CRM and ticketing tools, recording storage and retention and the agent desktops that run the softphone. Platform-level features such as payment masking are configured with the provider's support team, since they own that part of the service. Our job is making the whole chain hold together, not just one piece.
Do our work-from-home agents need company laptops?▼
Not always. Company-managed laptops give you the most control, but virtual desktops delivered to a locked browser or thin client can work well and cost less to ship and recover. What doesn't work is letting agents run client programs on a shared family PC with no controls. We help you choose by program: high-risk programs handling payments or health data often need managed hardware, while lower-risk programs can run on virtual desktops with conditional access.
How do we stop agents from photographing customer data with their phones?▼
On the floor, it's mostly policy and physical controls: phone lockers or clear-desk rules, enforced by supervisors and cameras. Technology helps by reducing what agents can see in the first place. Masking card numbers, showing only partial account data and keeping payments off the desktop with DTMF masking means there's far less worth photographing. For remote agents, minimizing data on screen matters even more, because no one is watching the room.
Our clients handle health data. Does HIPAA apply to us?▼
If you handle protected health information on behalf of a covered entity such as a health plan or provider, you're typically a business associate, and the HIPAA Security Rule applies to that program. Your business associate agreement spells out the obligations, so your counsel should review it. We support the technical side: isolating that program's data, restricting and logging access, encrypting recordings and documenting safeguards. Keeping a healthcare program separate from your other clients also limits how much of the operation HIPAA reaches.
What about TCPA and debt collection rules?▼
Those are mainly legal and operational rules about who you contact, when and how, so they belong with your compliance team and counsel. IT supports them in practical ways: keeping dialer configurations and consent records protected and auditable, preserving call recordings according to retention policy and making sure only authorized staff can change calling rules or suppression lists. If you run collections programs under the FDCPA and Regulation F, accurate, tamper-resistant records of contact attempts matter a great deal.
What happens if an agent account is used to take over customer accounts?▼
We treat it as an active incident with after-hours emergency response. We disable the agent account and any related sessions, pull platform and CRM logs to see which customer records were accessed or changed and determine whether the agent was compromised or acted deliberately. Then we help you brief the affected client with facts, not guesses. Notification decisions belong to your client and counsel. Afterward, we tighten verification scripts and permissions so the same path doesn't work twice.
Do you provide Call Centers & BPOs IT Services in Houston and nearby areas?▼

LayerLogix is based in the Greater Houston area and delivers call centers & bpos IT services to businesses across Houston and the surrounding communities, including The Woodlands, Spring, Katy, Sugar Land, Conroe, Cypress, and Pearland. Call 713-571-2390 to check coverage for your specific address.
What does Call Centers & BPOs IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
