What is TPN and do we need it?▼
The Trusted Partner Network is a content security program run by the Motion Picture Association, used by major studios and many streamers to evaluate vendors handling pre-release content. If you want work from those clients, they may require a TPN assessment or questionnaire. Commercial and corporate producers often face similar, less formal requirements from agencies and brands. We help you put the IT controls in place and document them. Assessments are performed by TPN-accredited assessors, not by us.
How do we stop review links from leaking?▼
Make secure settings the default instead of an option. We configure your review platform so links expire, carry visible or forensic watermarks where supported, require sign-in for sensitive projects and limit or disable downloads. Producers get a short standard: which settings to use for which kind of content. Download and view logs show who accessed what. It won't stop someone filming a screen, but it removes the easy forwarding that causes most accidental leaks.
Our freelancers use their own machines. Can that work?▼
It can, with conditions. The safest option is a managed loaner laptop that we configure, encrypt and wipe after the booking. If a freelancer uses their own machine, we enroll it in device management with encryption and EDR, limit access to the specific project and remove it when the job ends. What we avoid is project footage copied to unencrypted personal drives with no record, because that's how content walks away after wrap.
How do you back up huge media projects?▼
We separate active projects from archives. Active work gets versioned, isolated backups so you can roll back a corrupted project or recover from ransomware without restoring everything. Finished shows move to lower-cost archive storage or cloud tiers with a catalog so you can find them later. We size the plan to your actual storage growth, and we test restores of real projects, because media backups that have never been restored often fail when they're needed.
Will EDR slow down our edit bays?▼
Badly tuned security software can, which is why we tune it. We set exclusions for media caches and render folders where it's safe to do so, schedule scans and patches between deliveries, and test with your editors' real workflows before rolling out. We also keep standard workstation images so plugins and codecs work consistently. The aim is protection that editors don't notice, because security that slows playback just gets turned off.
Can you help on set?▼
We help set up the IT side of on-set data handling: managed DIT laptops and carts, encrypted shuttle drives, a standard offload and verification process and chain-of-custody logging. Our support is remote during business hours, with after-hours emergency response for active incidents. For hands-on help at a location near our offices we can come out, and elsewhere we can arrange a vetted local technician directed by our engineer. Camera and DIT operations stay with your crew.

What does Film & Video Production IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
