How do you stop us from printing an old artwork revision?▼
Mostly through structure and permissions. Approved artwork goes into a versioned location or artwork management system where the approved version locks, edits create a new version, and every change records who made it. Plate making and prepress pull only from the approved version. Backups keep older versions retrievable if someone overwrites a file. We work with your prepress manager to fit this into how your team already proofs and approves, so it doesn’t slow down a fast-turn job.
Can you monitor our EDI even if a third party runs it?▼
Often, yes. If you run an EDI translator on your own server, we monitor the server, services, queues, connections and certificates directly. If you use a hosted EDI provider, we monitor what’s visible on your side, such as integration jobs into your ERP and failed imports, and we coordinate with the provider when something stalls. The goal is the same: your team hears about a missing order batch from an alert, not from a customer asking where their shipment is.
Do you work on corrugator or press controls?▼
No. Controls inside corrugators, presses, die cutters and folder-gluers belong with the equipment manufacturer and your maintenance team. We handle the computers and network around them: the PCs that receive job files, the network segment they sit on, how files get to them, removable media rules, backups of exportable settings and how vendors connect remotely. When a vendor needs in, we open a recorded, time-limited session and close it afterward. That keeps responsibilities clear and support agreements intact.
A brand customer sent us a cybersecurity questionnaire. Can you help?▼
Yes. Large brands and retailers often ask suppliers about MFA, endpoint protection, backups, patching, access to their artwork and data, and incident response. We help you answer honestly, fix the gaps that matter most, and gather evidence like MFA reports, backup logs and a network diagram. Once that evidence folder exists, the next questionnaire takes far less time. If a question touches contract terms or liability, that part belongs with your management and counsel.
What if ransomware hits during peak season?▼
Endpoint detection is designed to catch and isolate infected machines early, and automated monitoring runs around the clock. Our engineers work business hours with after-hours emergency response for active incidents. Because converting line PCs sit on their own segment, production has a better chance of continuing while we contain the office side. ERP, scheduling and artwork data come back from immutable backups we’ve already tested. We also plan peak season ahead of time, freezing non-urgent changes so the plant isn’t surprised by updates.
Do our structural designers need special hardware?▼
They usually benefit from it. Structural design, 3D mockups and artwork tools lean on graphics cards, memory and fast storage, and color-critical work needs calibrated monitors. We spec workstations to match the software you use, manage license servers so seats stay available, and keep font and asset libraries backed up. When a designer’s machine fails before a customer presentation, we restore their profile, fonts and licenses from backup instead of starting from a blank machine.

What does Packaging Manufacturing IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
