Protect patterns and tech packs, secure the online store, keep traceability ready

Textile & Apparel Manufacturing IT Services

Apparel and textile companies run on files that are easy to steal and painful to rebuild: digital patterns, markers, tech packs, colorways and the sourcing records that prove where every fiber came from.

At a glance

When a designer’s account gets phished, a season’s line can leak before launch; when the ERP goes down in peak, wholesale orders and e-commerce shipments both stall.

We run managed IT and cybersecurity for cut-and-sew factories, textile mills, private-label manufacturers and apparel brands with their own production.

We support pattern and PLM systems, secure direct-to-consumer stores, protect supplier and factory communications, and keep traceability documents organized for customs and retail partners.

We work with companies in Texas and nationwide, and with your overseas factories over secure remote connections.

IT that keeps patterns private, the store selling, imports cleared.

Managed IT and security for apparel and textile makers, from the first sketch to the last carton through customs.

Apparel and textile IT

From pattern to purchase order to port

A garment passes through more systems than most people imagine: design software, PLM, a cutting room, a factory email thread overseas, an ERP, a customs broker and an online store. Every hop carries files that competitors or criminals would love to have. Here’s how apparel companies get hit and how we tighten each link.

01 · The pressure

A season lives in a few hundred files

Designers build lines in Illustrator and PLM. Pattern makers grade sizes and plan markers in CAD. Tech packs go to factories, sometimes on other continents, with measurements, trims and costing. The ERP tracks wholesale orders, allocations and EDI with retail partners. Compliance keeps supplier declarations and traceability documents for imports. The DTC store runs every day. Lose the pattern library or leak next season’s line, and the damage outlasts any single order.

  • Patterns and markers drive the cutting room
  • Tech packs travel to factories worldwide
  • Traceability files back every import entry

02 · How it breaks

A factory email thread gets hijacked

Apparel runs on long email threads with overseas factories, mills and agents. An attacker who compromises one mailbox, yours or the factory’s, can slip in a changed bank account for a production deposit. Designers share files through personal cloud links that never expire. The Shopify store has old apps with admin rights nobody reviewed. A pattern room PC running an old CAD version sits unpatched on the office network, waiting for ransomware.

  • Hijacked factory threads with new bank details
  • Never-expiring personal cloud share links
  • Old store apps holding admin permissions

03 · What we change

Lock the files, verify the money, clean the store

Design, pattern and PLM data moves to managed storage with access by team, version history and expiring share links instead of personal accounts. Mailboxes get MFA, impersonation protection and forwarding alerts, and any change to factory or mill bank details requires a callback. We audit store apps and admin accounts, enforce MFA and watch for checkout tampering. Pattern room PCs get patched or isolated, and traceability documents get organized and backed up for every shipment.

  • Expiring, logged links for tech packs
  • Callback rule for factory bank changes
  • Store apps and admins reviewed and locked down

04 · The after

Launches stay secret and shipments clear

Your design director knows who can see next season’s line and that links to factories expire. Production deposits go to the right bank account because the team has a rule and follows it. The online store runs with only the apps it needs and admins protected by MFA. When a retailer or customs broker asks for supplier traceability documents, they’re in one organized place. And if a PC gets infected, the pattern library isn’t at risk.

  • Next season’s line visible only to your team
  • Production deposits reach the real factory
  • Traceability files ready for brokers and retailers

What We Offer

Comprehensive solutions tailored for Houston-area businesses

Pattern, Marker and PLM Support

Pattern CAD and PLM systems are where your product actually lives. We keep the servers, databases, licenses and workstations behind them running and backed up, with version history so an overwritten graded pattern comes back quickly. Updates get scheduled around line reviews and production handoffs, not in the middle of them.

Secure Factory and Mill Collaboration

Tech packs, samples comments and costing go back and forth with factories around the world. We replace personal file-sharing links with managed sharing that expires, logs access and can be revoked, and we set up guest access in your collaboration tools so overseas partners see only the projects they’re working on.

Production Payment Fraud Defense

Deposits and balance payments to factories and mills are large, regular and often international, which attracts email compromise. We add MFA and impersonation protection to the mailboxes involved, alert on suspicious forwarding rules and help you put a written callback rule in place for any change to supplier banking details.

Direct-to-Consumer Store Security

We review your e-commerce platform’s apps, staff accounts and permissions, remove what isn’t needed, enforce MFA on every admin and monitor for checkout tampering. Payment flows stay on the platform’s hosted checkout where possible to keep PCI DSS scope small. Launch-day traffic and drops get a pre-flight check so the store holds up.

Traceability and Import Records

Retailers and customs authorities increasingly expect documentation of where fibers and fabrics came from. We organize supplier declarations, mill certificates, purchase orders and shipment documents into structured, backed-up storage with access controls, so your compliance team can produce a complete file for a shipment quickly when a broker or buyer asks.

Cutting Room and Plant Floor PCs

Plotters, cutters and spreading systems are driven by PCs that often run older software versions. We isolate them from office traffic, control removable media, back up their configurations and coordinate any upgrades with the equipment vendor, so ransomware on an office laptop can’t reach the machines that cut your fabric.

New Lines Stay Under Wraps

Access by team, expiring share links and logged downloads mean next season’s designs stay with the people who should see them. If a factory relationship ends, you can revoke access in minutes instead of wondering what files are still floating around in old email threads.

Deposits Reach the Right Factory

A callback rule, mailbox monitoring and impersonation alerts make it much harder for a hijacked email thread to redirect a production payment. Your finance team has a clear process to follow instead of relying on gut feel when an urgent bank change shows up before a shipment deadline.

A Store That Holds Up on Drop Day

Reviewed apps, protected admin accounts and checkout monitoring reduce the risk of skimming or a store takeover. A pre-launch check covers the integrations that tend to break under traffic, so your marketing spend lands on a store that’s actually taking orders.

Import Paperwork in One Place

Organized, backed-up traceability files mean a customs question or a retail compliance audit becomes a document pull, not a scramble through inboxes. Your team answers quickly, and shipments are less likely to sit at the port while someone hunts for a supplier declaration.

Our Process

1
Inventory design workstations, pattern and PLM systems, cutting room PCs, the ERP, e-commerce platform, file-sharing habits and every factory or mill partner connection.
2
Map how designs, tech packs, payments and traceability documents move between your team, factories, brokers and retail partners.
3
Move design and pattern data to managed storage with team access, version history and expiring share links for outside partners.
4
Protect mailboxes with MFA and impersonation controls, set the supplier bank-change callback rule, and audit the online store’s apps and admins.
5
Isolate cutting room PCs, back up PLM, ERP and pattern libraries to immutable storage, and test a restore with your team.
6
Organize traceability records by shipment, then review alerts, store health and partner access with you each quarter and before peak seasons.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do we share tech packs with overseas factories safely?▼
Use managed sharing instead of personal cloud links or email attachments. We set up shared folders or guest access in your collaboration platform so each factory sees only its own projects, links expire after a set time, downloads are logged and access can be revoked instantly. Factories get a consistent place to find current files, which reduces production mistakes from outdated tech packs. If a factory relationship ends, removing its access takes minutes and you know what it could still see.
A factory emailed new bank details for a deposit. What should we do?▼
Pause and verify by phone using a number you already have on file, ideally with a contact you’ve spoken with before. Don’t use any phone number in the email asking for the change. Attackers often compromise the factory’s or agent’s mailbox, not yours, so the message can look completely genuine and sit inside a real thread. We help you write this into your payment process, add impersonation warnings to email and monitor your own mailboxes for signs of takeover.
What traceability documentation do importers need now?▼
It depends on your products, sourcing and the retailers you sell to. Under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, U.S. Customs can detain cotton and other goods with links to certain regions unless the importer can document the supply chain. Retailers often ask for similar records. That usually means supplier declarations, mill and ginning documents, purchase orders and shipping records. We organize and protect those files so your compliance team can produce them quickly. What documentation is legally sufficient is a question for your customs broker and counsel.
Our online store runs on a hosted platform. What is there to secure?▼
The platform secures its own servers, but your account, apps and staff are still your responsibility. We look at which apps have access to customer and order data, remove unused ones, require MFA for every staff account, review permissions, and watch for unexpected script or theme changes that could indicate skimming. Keeping payments on the platform’s hosted checkout limits your PCI DSS scope. We also check that order data flows correctly into your ERP or fulfillment system, since that integration is where many problems start.
Do children’s apparel makers have extra recordkeeping?▼
Yes. Children’s products sold in the U.S. generally need a Children’s Product Certificate based on testing by an accepted third-party lab, plus tracking labels, under CPSIA. That creates a body of test reports and certificates that must be retrievable for each product and lot. We don’t determine testing requirements, but we help you store, organize and back up those records so they can be produced quickly for a retailer, an auditor or the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Can you support both Mac designers and Windows operations staff?▼
Yes. Design teams often work on Macs while operations, planning and finance run Windows, and we support both platforms to the same standard. That means patching, endpoint protection, backups, font and asset library management and remote help for either. Adobe licensing and font conflicts get handled the same way on both. Your designers don’t need to switch platforms for IT’s convenience, and your operations team doesn’t get treated as an afterthought either.
Do you provide Textile & Apparel Manufacturing IT Services in Houston and nearby areas?▼

What does Textile & Apparel Manufacturing IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
