How does capital call fraud work?▼
An attacker learns that a capital call is coming, often by compromising a mailbox at your firm, an investor or an adviser, or simply by watching for your notices. They send investors a message that looks like yours with new wire instructions, sometimes from a lookalike domain. Investors who wire without verifying send money to the criminal. Protecting your domain with DMARC, putting a clear verification statement in every notice and directing investors to confirm through the portal or a known phone number shuts most of this down.
What controls should we have on construction draws?▼
A written procedure that everyone follows. Any change to GC, subcontractor or title banking information gets confirmed by phone with a known contact, not the one in the email. Large wires need two approvers. The mailboxes that receive pay apps and draw packages have MFA and impersonation filtering. We set up the technical pieces and walk through the procedure with your controller and project managers, so the habit holds even when a draw is late and everyone is rushing.
We have a dozen project entities. How do we manage bank portal access?▼
Give every user their own login with MFA at every bank, and stop sharing a token or password across the office. Most commercial banking portals support individual users with their own approval limits. We work with your controller to set that up, document who has what authority in each entity, and remove access promptly when people leave or projects close. That also gives you a clean audit trail when lenders or auditors ask who initiated and approved a wire.
How should we share Argus models and investor lists?▼
From managed storage with controls, not as email attachments or personal Dropbox links. We set up SharePoint or your preferred platform so internal users have access by role and external parties such as lenders, partners and consultants get expiring, logged links. Investor lists deserve special care because they include personal and financial information. When someone leaves, their access ends, and the files stay with the firm rather than in an account you can't reach.
Do you support the investor portal and development software?▼
We support the IT side of Juniper Square, Northspyre, Procore and similar tools: user provisioning, MFA, SSO where available and integrations with accounting. The vendors still support their product features. We make sure the right people have access, former staff and consultants are removed promptly, and data exports exist where they need to. For investor portals specifically, we review who can change distribution and payment details, since that's where fraud risk concentrates.
Can you set up IT for project site offices?▼
Yes. Construction and sales offices on a project site get a managed firewall, cellular or fixed wireless internet, Wi-Fi and printers on their own network, connected back to company systems securely. We monitor them and handle setup and teardown as projects start and finish. Hands-on work happens locally near our offices or through a vetted local technician directed by our engineer, which works well for developers with projects in several markets.

What does Real Estate Developers IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
