Why are hotel front desks targeted so often?▼
Because answering strangers is the job. Desk agents and reservations staff open messages from guests, booking sites and event planners all day, often under time pressure, and a convincing complaint with an attachment is hard to ignore. Attackers have run campaigns impersonating booking platforms and guests to get malware onto hotel PCs or to steal extranet logins. We assume some of those messages will get opened, so we harden the desk PCs, isolate them from payment systems and watch them with endpoint detection.
Someone messaged our guests from our OTA listing asking for card details. What happened?▼
Most likely, an attacker got hold of a login to your booking site extranet, often through a phishing page, and used the platform’s messaging to contact real guests with a fake payment link. Contact the booking platform right away, reset the account and check for added users. We help secure the account with MFA and named users, look for how the credentials were stolen, and check desk PCs for malware. Questions about guest notification belong with your counsel.
Can you work with our brand’s required systems?▼
Yes. Branded hotels follow brand technology standards for the PMS, reservation connectivity, network vendors and sometimes guest Wi-Fi. We work inside those standards, coordinate with the brand’s help desk and approved vendors, and handle what the brand leaves to the property or management company: desk and back office PCs, email, segmentation, local network gear, endpoint security and user access. If a brand requirement conflicts with good security practice, we raise it with you and the brand.
Do you provide guest Wi-Fi?▼
We design, install and manage guest Wi-Fi, or we work with your brand-approved guest internet provider if one is required. Either way, our priority is that guest traffic stays isolated from everything else: PMS, card terminals, key encoders, cameras and back office. We tune coverage for rooms, meeting space and outdoor areas, set fair bandwidth limits, and monitor uptime. Guests just want it to work, and you want it never to become a path into your business systems.
We manage several hotels for different owners. How do you handle that?▼
Each owner entity may have its own accounts, merchant IDs and reporting needs, while your corporate team needs consistent oversight. We build a property standard you apply everywhere, keep owner data and accounts separate where the contracts require it, and give your corporate team a single view of device health, security alerts and access across all hotels. When you add or lose a contract, onboarding or handover follows a checklist instead of an improvised scramble.
What’s the plan if the PMS goes down during check-in?▼
Cloud PMS outages are the vendor’s to fix, so we prepare you for the gap: a recent arrivals and in-house report printed or saved locally, a manual key procedure with your lock vendor’s tools, and standalone card authorization if the main path fails. If the problem is on your side, like internet, network or a desk PC, we work it remotely right away. For active security incidents, our engineers provide after-hours emergency response so the night audit isn’t on its own.

What does Hotels IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
