How is resort IT different from hotel IT?▼
A hotel centers on rooms and a front desk. A resort adds outlets with their own systems, like restaurants, bars, a spa, golf, retail, marinas and activities, all posting to guest folios through interfaces. The footprint is a campus, so the network spans buildings and outdoor areas. Staffing swings with the season, and guest privacy expectations are often higher. We plan for all of that: interface monitoring, campus network design, seasonal access lifecycles and VIP profile protection, on top of the hotel basics.
Our spa and restaurant charges sometimes don’t post. Can you fix that?▼
Usually, yes. Posting failures come from a few places: an interface service that stopped on a server, a network path between the outlet and the property system that drops, mismatched outlet or revenue codes after a menu change, or a vendor update that broke compatibility. We monitor the interfaces, alert on stalled postings, and work with the property system and outlet vendors to find the root cause. Once someone watches those links, a failure gets caught when it happens instead of at night audit.
Can you cover Wi-Fi across a large outdoor property?▼
Yes. Outdoor coverage at pools, beaches, golf courses, villas and event lawns needs outdoor-rated access points, power and backhaul planning, and attention to weather and lightning protection. We survey the property, design coverage around how guests and staff actually move, and build it in phases if needed. Staff devices like golf cart tablets, mobile POS and housekeeping phones need that coverage as much as guests do, so we plan for both.
How do you protect high-profile guests’ information?▼
Most leaks aren’t sophisticated. Someone calls pretending to be a family member, or a staff member with broad access looks up a famous name and mentions it. We restrict search and view permissions on sensitive profiles, use alias features your property system supports, log and review lookups, and train front office and outlet staff on how people try to confirm a guest is on property. Combined with MFA on property system accounts, it keeps stays quiet.
Do you manage the building automation and pool systems?▼
We handle the boundary, not the controllers. Pool chemistry controllers, HVAC, lighting, irrigation and gate systems belong to your engineering team, controls contractor or equipment vendor, and changes inside those systems go through them. Our part is putting those devices in their own network zone, keeping them away from guest Wi-Fi and payment systems, and making sure contractor remote access is controlled and logged. That way an old controller can’t become someone’s route into the property system.
We have residences or a rental program. Does that change anything?▼
It adds owners to your user base. Residence owners may get portal access to statements, bookings and owner stays, and rental program accounting ties those statements to your property system. We secure the owner portal with MFA, keep owner financial data in restricted systems, and make sure residents’ in-home networks are separate from resort operations. If owners use resort Wi-Fi, they get their own isolated network rather than sharing with guests or staff.
Do you provide Resorts IT Services in Houston and nearby areas?▼
Yes. LayerLogix is based in the Greater Houston area and delivers resorts IT services to businesses across Houston and the surrounding communities, including The Woodlands, Spring, Katy, Sugar Land, Conroe, Cypress, and Pearland. For most Houston-area clients we can be on-site the same day when something needs hands-on attention, and our help desk is available during business hours, with after-hours emergency support. Call 713-571-2390 to check coverage for your specific address.
What does Resorts IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
