Gates, passes, wristbands and a summer workforce secured for parks that open big.

Theme & Water Parks IT Services

A theme or water park makes most of its year in a short season, and the first sunny Saturday tests every system at once: online ticket sales, turnstile scanners, season pass verification, cashless wristbands, food lanes, lockers and a seasonal workforce that was hired a few weeks earlier.

At a glance

A ticketing outage at the gate or a breach of season pass holder data costs more than a day's attendance.

We manage the IT behind it: segmented networks for payments, ticketing, cameras and ride areas, fast and safe onboarding and offboarding for seasonal staff, protected guest and pass holder data, outdoor Wi-Fi that reaches the far end of the park, and backups for the systems you can't open without.

We support theme parks, water parks and family attractions in Texas and nationwide.

IT that keeps the gates scanning, wristbands paying, summer staff ready.

Ticketing, season passes, cashless payments and a seasonal workforce secured for parks that live or die by summer weekends.

Theme & water parks

A city that opens every morning at ten

On a peak day a park runs like a small town. Thousands of guests scan in, hundreds of seasonal employees clock in and every food stand, gift shop and locker bank takes payment. Ride operators follow their own control systems, lifeguards rotate stands and the operations office watches the weather. When the gate system falters, the parking lot fills while the line stops.

01 · The pressure

Opening day, season pass rush and a new workforce

Spring brings a hiring wave: lifeguards, ride operators, cooks and cashiers, many in their first job. Season pass sales spike online, and pass holders expect their photo or fingerprint scan to work at the turnstile on day one. Gate scanners pull from accesso, Gateway Galaxy or Centaman, wristbands carry cashless balances and food lanes run on handheld POS. If ticketing slows or the network drops under load, guests wait in the sun while revenue turns into refunds.

  • Seasonal staff hired and trained in weeks
  • Pass holders verified at turnstiles
  • Cashless wristbands loaded with guest money

02 · How it breaks

Leftover accounts and a flat park network

Last summer's employees still have active logins to scheduling and POS. Supervisors share one manager override across every food stand. Ticket scanners, cameras, guest Wi-Fi and the ride area's maintenance laptops sit on one flat network that grew a cable at a time. Bots and resellers hit your online store with stolen cards on discount days. And a phished marketing mailbox exposes the season pass holder list, complete with photos and home addresses.

  • Former seasonal staff still able to log in
  • Ticketing, cameras and guests on one network
  • Card-testing bots hitting the online store

03 · What we change

Zoned park networks and a seasonal access cycle

We split the park network into zones for payments, ticketing and gates, cameras, guest Wi-Fi, offices and ride maintenance areas, with firewall rules between them. Seasonal hires get accounts from a template with an end date, and supervisors get named overrides. Pass holder data and biometric templates get access limits, retention rules and logging. Online ticketing gets bot protection and fraud screening with your provider. Ride control systems stay with the manufacturer, behind a boundary we manage.

  • Separate zones for payments, gates and rides
  • Seasonal logins with built-in end dates
  • Pass holder and biometric data access limited

04 · The after

Summer you spend running the park

Gates scan smoothly on opening day because the network was load-checked weeks earlier. Seasonal staff get access on their first shift and lose it after their last. Pass holder data sits behind clear access rules, which makes privacy questions easier to answer. A camera or guest device can't reach the payment network or ride maintenance laptops. And when the season closes, offboarding hundreds of people is a planned task instead of a forgotten one.

  • Gates ready before the first guest arrives
  • Seasonal offboarding done on schedule
  • Clear rules for pass holder data

What We Offer

Comprehensive solutions tailored for Houston-area businesses

Ticketing and Gate System Support

We keep accesso, Gateway Galaxy, Centaman or your ticketing platform running at the gate: scanner and turnstile connectivity, handheld devices, receipt and wristband printers and the servers or cloud links behind them. Before opening day we check capacity and failover, so a network blip doesn't turn into a line at the turnstiles.

Seasonal Workforce Account Lifecycle

Hiring hundreds of seasonal staff means hundreds of accounts. We build role templates for scheduling, POS, email and timekeeping, set end dates at hire and run a single offboarding process at season close, so last summer's lifeguards don't still have access to this summer's schedules or registers.

Park-Wide Network Segmentation

Payments, ticketing, cameras, guest Wi-Fi, office systems and ride maintenance areas each get their own network zone and firewall rules. That keeps a compromised guest device or camera from reaching the POS, narrows PCI scope and keeps the boundary around ride areas clear and documented.

Season Pass and Biometric Data Protection

Pass holder records often include photos, addresses, birthdates and sometimes fingerprint or face templates. We limit who can view and export them, log access, set retention to match your policy and the privacy laws where you operate, and keep marketing exports out of personal email and shared drives.

Outdoor Wi-Fi and Cashless Coverage

Handheld POS, wristband readers and mobile ordering need coverage from the front gate to the far side of the wave pool. We design weather-rated access points and point-to-point links, prioritize payment traffic over guest streaming and monitor coverage so dead spots show up before guests notice.

Ride Control Boundary Coordination

Ride control and safety systems belong to the manufacturer and your maintenance team. We don't change them. We secure the IT around them: separate network zones, controlled maintenance laptops, logged vendor remote access and a documented boundary, coordinating with the ride manufacturer whenever a connection or update is needed.

Why Choose LayerLogix?

Opening Day Without a Gate Meltdown

Capacity checks, failover and tested scanners mean the first big Saturday of the season starts on time. Guests get through the gate and into the park instead of standing in a stalled line watching staff reboot handhelds.

Seasonal Turnover Without Leftovers

Hundreds of seasonal accounts get created from templates and closed on schedule. Nobody from last season can still clock in, see schedules or ring sales, and your HR team doesn't have to chase IT to clean up.

Guest Money and Data Protected

Cashless balances, card payments and pass holder records sit in their own protected zones with access limits and logging. That lowers the risk of a breach headline in the middle of your peak season. Guests keep spending without a second thought.

Better Answers for Insurers and Partners

Documented networks, access reviews and data handling make cyber insurance renewals, payment processor reviews and sponsor or partner security questionnaires much easier to complete honestly, without engineers stopping park work to answer them. Renewal season gets shorter.

Our Process

1
We walk the park with your operations and maintenance teams, mapping ticketing, POS, cameras, Wi-Fi, offices and ride area connections.
2
We design network zones for payments, ticketing, cameras, guests, offices and ride maintenance, then roll them out before the season.
3
Role templates and end dates are built for seasonal staff across scheduling, POS, email and timekeeping systems.
4
Pass holder and biometric data get access limits, logging and retention rules, and online ticketing gets bot and fraud screening.
5
Ahead of opening day we load-check the network, test scanners and failover, and confirm backups of critical systems.
6
At season close we run offboarding, review access and boundary rules, and plan upgrades for the off-season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work on ride control systems?▼
No. Ride controls and safety systems belong to the manufacturer and your maintenance team, and changes to them follow the manufacturer's procedures and your state's ride safety program. We secure the IT around them: putting ride areas on their own network zone, managing maintenance laptops, logging and controlling vendor remote access and documenting where IT ends and ride controls begin. If a ride needs a network connection or an update path, we coordinate with the manufacturer so it's done their way.
Our season passes use fingerprints or face scans. What should we watch for?▼
Biometric data carries extra legal risk in some states. Illinois and a few others have laws requiring notice, consent and retention limits for biometric identifiers, and more states are adding rules. Check with counsel about what applies where your park operates. On the IT side, we limit who can access biometric templates, confirm how your ticketing vendor stores them, set deletion when a pass expires and log access. We also make sure templates never end up in marketing exports.
How do we handle IT for hundreds of seasonal hires?▼
Treat it as a cycle with templates. Before hiring starts, we build role templates for lifeguards, ride operators, food service and retail, each with the right access to scheduling, POS and timekeeping. New hires get accounts from those templates with an end date already set. During the season, supervisors get named overrides instead of a shared code. At close, one process removes everyone, and we report anything that didn't shut off cleanly.
Bots keep buying discount tickets with stolen cards. What can we do?▼
Card-testing and reseller bots often target discount days and new season pass launches. We work with your ticketing provider to turn on bot protection, rate limiting and fraud screening, add CAPTCHA or queueing at high-demand moments and review chargeback patterns. We also make sure admin accounts on the ticketing platform use MFA, because a hijacked admin can create free tickets just as easily as a bot can buy discounted ones.
Can you get reliable Wi-Fi across the whole park?▼
Usually, with planning. Water, concrete, steel structures and crowds all affect wireless coverage. We survey the park, then design weather-rated access points and point-to-point links between buildings and stands. Payment and ticketing traffic gets priority over guest streaming, and staff devices use a separate network from guests. Where a far corner can't be covered well, we tell you and suggest cellular-backed handhelds or wired kiosks instead. We monitor coverage through the season, too.
What should IT do during the off-season?▼
The off-season is when the real work gets done. That's the time for firmware and software upgrades, replacing worn outdoor access points, reviewing network zones, testing backups and restores and cleaning up any accounts that survived offboarding. We also review last season's incidents and help desk tickets to find patterns, then plan changes before hiring starts again. Parks that skip this usually discover the problems on opening day. A quiet winter makes for a calm summer.
