Why is our guest Wi-Fi so slow even though we pay for fast internet?▼
Usually it's a mix of coverage and sharing. Access points may not reach the far sites well, RVs themselves block signal, and a handful of guests streaming in high definition can use most of the bandwidth. We survey the park, place outdoor access points and wireless links where guests actually park, set per-device limits and prioritize office traffic. Sometimes the fix also means adding a second internet connection, and we'll tell you honestly when your line itself is the bottleneck.
Should guests and our office share a network?▼
No. On a shared network, any infected guest laptop can probe your office PC and camp store POS, and heavy guest traffic slows your reservation system and card payments. We put the office, store, cameras and guests in separate zones behind a managed firewall. Guests can't see your systems, payments get priority and your PCI scope stays smaller. It also lets you change the guest Wi-Fi password every season without disrupting the office.
How do we handle workamper access to our systems?▼
Give each workamper a named login, not the manager's password. Set their role in the reservation system and POS to match their job, require MFA on their phone and set an end date that matches their agreement. When they leave, one offboarding step removes them from reservations, the store, email and any gate or camera apps. If they return next season, we reactivate the account instead of handing out old shared credentials again.
What happens if our reservation system or internet goes down?▼
Most reservation platforms are cloud-based, so an internet outage looks the same as a system outage from your desk. We set up cellular failover so the office keeps working, and we keep a daily export of arrivals, departures and site assignments on a protected device so you can check guests in by hand if the vendor has an outage. When the issue is on the vendor's side, we work with their support team while you keep checking people in.
Do we need to worry about what guests do on our Wi-Fi?▼
It's worth planning for. Guests occasionally download pirated content or misuse a public network, and your internet provider may forward complaints to you. A simple terms-of-use page, content filtering for clearly illegal categories and separation between guest and office networks reduce the risk and keep complaints from becoming your problem. We can set up a guest portal with terms of use and keep logs your attorney can review if a question ever comes up.
Can you secure our gate codes and electric pedestal systems?▼
We can secure the network side. Gate keypads, smart electric pedestals for monthly guests, cameras and laundry systems each go on their own network zone with changed default passwords and controlled vendor access. Staff who manage gate codes get named accounts instead of a shared login. For firmware updates or settings inside the gate controller or metering software, we coordinate with the installer, since those systems are theirs to support.
