Keep the plant running, the linen tracked and every route delivered

Laundry & Linen Services IT Services

A commercial laundry promises clean linen on a fixed schedule, and if the plant network, the RFID tracking system or the route software fails, hospitals, hotels and restaurants run short before lunch.

At a glance

Your operation depends on soil sort and clean-side counts, equipment controls on tunnels and ironers that talk to a production network, RFID or barcode tracking that proves what went out and came back, route drivers with handheld devices, and billing that ties every piece to the right account.

We run and secure the IT behind that: plant and office networks, the production and tracking systems' servers and PCs, driver devices, customer portals and accounting. Equipment controls stay with the OEM; we secure the boundary. We support laundry and linen operators in Texas and nationwide.

IT that keeps linen counted, tunnels running, routes delivered.

Managed IT and security for the plant network, linen tracking, route devices and billing of commercial laundry and linen services.

Laundry & linen services

Every cart that leaves the dock has to be counted

Industrial laundries are part factory, part logistics company. Soiled linen comes in, gets sorted, washed, dried, ironed and folded, then goes back out on a schedule customers plan around. Counts and tracking decide what you bill and what you replace. When the data or the network fails, carts sit and invoices go wrong. Here's how, and what we change.

01 · The pressure

Customers run on your delivery schedule

Trucks bring soiled linen from hospitals, hotels and restaurants. Sort lines weigh and scan it, tunnel washers and dryers run programmed cycles, and ironers and folders keep pace on the clean side. RFID or barcode readers count pieces in and out, so you can bill accurately and show customers where their linen went. Drivers deliver on routes with handhelds, and accounting turns counts into invoices and replacement charges.

  • Production equipment and tracking share the plant network
  • RFID or barcode counts drive billing and loss claims
  • Routes and handhelds deliver to a fixed schedule

02 · How it breaks

Flat plant networks, aging PCs and vendor backdoors

The tunnel washer's control PC, the RFID server, office laptops and guest Wi-Fi all sit on one flat network. Equipment vendors connect through remote access tools nobody monitors. The production PC on the clean side still runs an unsupported Windows build. Ransomware that lands through a phished office mailbox spreads to the tracking server, and suddenly you can't count what's leaving the dock or prove what a customer lost.

  • Equipment, tracking and office traffic on one network
  • Unmonitored vendor remote access into plant PCs
  • Unsupported production PCs nobody wants to touch

03 · What we change

A segmented plant, controlled vendors, backed-up counts

We split the plant into production equipment, tracking, office and guest segments with firewall rules between them, coordinating with each equipment OEM before changing anything near their controls. Vendor remote access moves to a monitored, time-limited method with MFA. Unsupported PCs get isolated, imaged and scheduled for replacement. The tracking database, route data and accounting are backed up off-site with tested restores, and office email gets phishing protection.

  • Separate production, tracking and office networks
  • Monitored, time-limited vendor remote access
  • Off-site backups of tracking and billing data

04 · The after

Linen goes out on time and the counts hold up

A phished office laptop can't reach the tunnel controls or the RFID server. When a hospital questions a linen loss charge, you show scan data with dates and locations. Equipment vendors still support their machines, but every session is logged and limited. Drivers start routes with working handhelds, and the plant manager stops worrying that one bad click will idle the line on a heavy day.

  • Production protected from office-side incidents
  • Count data that settles loss disputes
  • Vendor access logged and limited

What We Offer

Comprehensive solutions tailored for Houston-area businesses

Plant Network Segmentation

Tunnel washers, dryers, ironers and folders often connect to a controls network for programming and reporting. We separate that equipment from tracking, office and guest traffic, control what crosses between them and monitor the boundary. Any change near equipment controls is planned with the OEM or your maintenance lead, so production never stops because of our work.

RFID & Linen Tracking Systems

RFID tunnels, readers and barcode scanners generate the counts behind billing, par levels and loss claims. We keep the tracking servers, databases and reader network healthy, back the data up off-site and work with the tracking vendor when readers drop or counts stop syncing to the billing system.

Equipment Vendor Remote Access

Laundry equipment manufacturers often support their machines remotely, and those connections can become a quiet way in. We replace always-on remote tools with monitored, time-limited access protected by MFA, log every session and keep a record of who connected, when and to which machine, so your maintenance lead can review it.

Route & Driver Device Management

Drivers use handhelds or phones for delivery confirmation, soil pickup counts and customer signatures. We enroll them in device management with passcodes, approved apps and remote wipe, connect them to your route software and keep spares ready so a dropped device doesn't delay a route.

Production PC Lifecycle

Plant PCs for sort stations, production reporting and equipment interfaces tend to run long past support. We inventory them, isolate the ones tied to equipment software, keep tested images for quick rebuilds and plan replacements with the OEM so upgrades happen during scheduled downtime, not after a failure.

Customer Portals & Billing Security

Customers check deliveries, par levels and invoices through portals and email. We protect billing and customer service mailboxes with MFA and impersonation alerts, keep portal access individual and limited, back up accounting data and help you set a verification step for any change to customer or vendor payment details.

Production Stays Up

Segmented networks and controlled vendor access mean an office-side incident doesn't stop tunnels and ironers. Imaged production PCs and planned replacements cut unplanned downtime, so linen keeps moving through the plant on the schedule customers depend on.

Counts That Settle Disputes

Backed-up RFID and barcode data, tied to dates, customers and routes, gives you evidence when a customer questions a loss charge or a short delivery. Billing becomes easier to defend and less likely to sour a long-term account.

Healthcare Customers Reassured

Hospitals and clinics increasingly send their vendors security questionnaires. Documented segmentation, vendor access controls, backups and email protection let you answer specifically, which helps you keep and win healthcare linen contracts when procurement teams compare vendors side by side.

Routes Leave on Time

Managed driver devices, working route software and spares on the shelf mean trucks roll out with everything they need. Customers get their linen when promised, and your dispatcher stops troubleshooting handhelds at five in the morning.

Our Process

1
Walk the plant and office to inventory production PCs, equipment network connections, tracking systems, driver devices and vendor remote access.
2
Map the data behind counts, routes and billing, and identify which systems would stop production or invoicing if they failed.
3
Segment production, tracking, office and guest networks, coordinating every change near equipment controls with the OEM.
4
Replace always-on vendor remote tools with monitored, time-limited access, and isolate and image unsupported production PCs.
5
Back up tracking, route and accounting data off-site, test restores and harden billing and customer service email.
6
Review each quarter with plant and operations leaders, planning equipment upgrades, new customers and PC replacements ahead of time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work on our tunnel washers and ironers?▼
No. Programming, recipes and controls inside laundry equipment belong to the manufacturer and your maintenance team. We work on the IT side and the boundary: the network that equipment connects to, the PCs that interface with it, how vendors reach it remotely and the backups of any production data it produces. When a change touches both sides, such as a new firewall or a production PC replacement, we plan it with the OEM and schedule it for downtime so the line never stops because of IT work.
Why does a laundry plant need network segmentation?▼
Because a flat network lets one problem reach everything. If office laptops, guest Wi-Fi, tracking servers and equipment PCs all share a network, ransomware from a phished email can spread straight to the systems that run and count production. Segmentation puts each group on its own network with rules about what can cross. Office users still see production reports, vendors still support their machines, but an infection in accounting can't hop onto the clean side and stop the ironers.
Our RFID counts sometimes don't match billing. Can you help?▼
Often, yes, at least on the IT side. Mismatches can come from readers dropping off the network, sync jobs failing between the tracking system and billing, or database problems. We monitor the reader network and servers, check integration jobs and work with your tracking and billing vendors to find where counts get lost. Configuration of the tracking software itself stays with the vendor. Once data flows reliably, we back it up so you have a history to rely on when customers question charges.
Hospitals keep sending us security questionnaires. What do they want?▼
Usually evidence that a vendor won't become a way into the hospital or mishandle its information. Expect questions about MFA, endpoint protection, backups, incident response, vendor access and how you handle any data about the facility. Most linen services aren't HIPAA business associates, but some arrangements do involve patient information, and your counsel should confirm. We help you answer accurately, document what's in place and close gaps, so questionnaires stop holding up renewals.
How should equipment vendors connect to our machines remotely?▼
Through a controlled path, not an always-on tool installed years ago. We set up remote access that vendors request when needed, protected by MFA, limited to the specific machine and time window, and logged. Your maintenance lead approves sessions. That way manufacturers can still troubleshoot and update their equipment, but you know exactly who connected and when, and an attacker can't use a forgotten tool to get into the plant.
We're adding a second plant. What should we plan for IT-wise?▼
Design the network and tracking setup from the start rather than copying the first plant's history. We work with your equipment suppliers and contractors on cabling, network closets, segmentation and internet with failover, and plan how the new plant's tracking and route data feeds your billing system. Driver devices, office PCs and vendor access follow the same standard as your current plant. The result is two plants you can support the same way, with production data from both in one place.
