Phones ready at dispatch, drivers onboarded fast, and offboarded the same day

Last-Mile Delivery IT Services

A last-mile operation lives and dies at morning load-out: if a stack of driver phones won’t sign in, routes leave late and the whole day’s delivery window starts slipping before the first van pulls out.

At a glance

Delivery service partners, contracted route operators, couriers and same-day services hire and lose drivers constantly, hand them phones loaded with routing and proof-of-delivery apps, and answer to a partner portal or shipper network that expects clean performance data.

We run IT and security for last-mile operators in Texas and nationwide.

We manage driver devices at scale, make onboarding and offboarding fast and complete, lock down owner and dispatcher accounts, and protect the addresses, photos and dashcam footage your routes generate every day.

IT that keeps routes out on time, every phone signed in, ex-drivers locked out.

Driver phones, routing apps, dashcams and partner portals managed for delivery operators who restaff every week.

Load-out to last stop

A full fleet of phones before sunrise

Last-mile delivery runs on handheld devices more than trucks. Every driver needs a working phone with the right apps, a valid login and enough battery for a full route, and the roster changes week to week. Behind that sits a small office handling dispatch, payroll and a partner portal. Here’s what goes wrong, and how we fix it.

01 · The pressure

Every route starts with a working phone

Drivers pick up phones at the station, sign in to routing and proof-of-delivery apps, scan packages, navigate, photograph doorsteps and contact customers through masked numbers. Dashcams and telematics watch the vans. Dispatchers rebalance routes in real time, and the office runs scheduling, payroll and the shipper or partner portal. When phones aren’t charged, updated or signed in, routes leave late and on-time metrics drop, which can affect the routes and contract terms you’re offered next.

  • Phones with routing and POD apps per driver
  • Dashcams and telematics in every van
  • Partner metrics shape future route volume

02 · How it breaks

Turnover, shared logins and phished owners

Drivers leave without notice and phones come back reset, missing or not at all. Some keep app access on personal phones. Dispatch uses a single shared login, so nobody can tell who reassigned a route. Phones run without device management, so a lost unit exposes customer addresses and door photos. Owners get phishing emails disguised as partner portal alerts, and a stolen login lets someone change payout details or pull driver records. And the station Wi-Fi buckles when every phone updates at once.

  • Departed drivers keep app access
  • One shared login for every dispatcher
  • Fake portal alert phishes the owner

03 · What we change

Manage every device, script every exit

Every phone is enrolled in device management with a locked-down profile: only the work apps, enforced passcodes, controlled updates scheduled overnight and remote lock or wipe. Onboarding and offboarding become a checklist that creates or removes accounts in each app, collects the phone and logs it. Dispatchers and managers get named accounts. Owners and admins get MFA on email, the partner portal, payroll and telematics. Station Wi-Fi gets sized and segmented for the morning device rush.

  • Every phone enrolled and locked to work apps
  • Offboarding checklist covers every app
  • Station Wi-Fi sized for morning sign-in

04 · The after

Load-out on time, exits clean

Phones are charged, updated and ready when drivers arrive. A new hire gets a working device and accounts on day one. When someone quits mid-route, their phone gets locked as soon as you call it in and their app access ends. Customer addresses and doorstep photos stay inside managed apps. Partner portal payouts can’t be changed with a phished password. And your office stops losing mornings to device problems that a profile and a checklist would have prevented.

  • New hires routed on day one
  • Lost phones locked and wiped remotely
  • Portal payouts protected by MFA

What We Offer

Comprehensive solutions tailored for Houston-area businesses

Driver Device Management at Scale

We enroll every driver phone in device management with a work-only profile: routing, scanning and proof-of-delivery apps, enforced passcodes, controlled update windows and remote lock and wipe. Devices get labeled and tracked to a driver each day, so you know which phone went out on which route and which ones haven’t come back.

Fast Onboarding and Same-Day Offboarding

High driver turnover means account changes every week. We build a checklist that covers each app and portal, so a new driver gets every login on day one, and a departing driver loses access to all of them the same day. Phones get collected, reset and reassigned through a logged process.

Owner and Dispatcher Account Security

Partner portals, payroll, telematics and email give whoever holds the password control over payouts, schedules and driver data. We enforce MFA, give each dispatcher and manager a named account, remove shared logins and train the office to spot phishing that imitates partner and shipper alerts.

Dashcam and Telematics Data Handling

Dashcams and telematics capture video, location history and driving behavior. We tighten admin roles on those platforms, set retention that matches your insurer’s and counsel’s guidance, limit who can download footage, and make sure clips needed for accident claims get preserved instead of quietly overwritten a few days later.

Station Network and Charging Setup

Morning load-out means a fleet of phones signing in, syncing routes and pulling updates at once. We design station Wi-Fi with the capacity for that rush, segment driver devices from the office, cameras and guest traffic, and help plan charging and staging so phones are ready instead of dead in a drawer.

Customer Address and Photo Privacy

Proof-of-delivery photos show front doors, packages and sometimes people. Addresses and delivery notes reveal routines. We keep that data inside managed apps, block screenshots and personal cloud backups where the platform allows, and make sure lost or unreturned devices get wiped before anyone can browse the camera roll.

Why Choose LayerLogix?

Serving businesses throughout the Greater Houston area including Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Atlanta, Nationwide.

On-Time Starts Every Morning

Charged, updated and signed-in phones mean drivers leave the station on schedule. Fewer late departures protect your on-time metrics and the route volume and standing that depend on them, especially during peak season surges when every minute at the station counts.

Clean Exits Despite High Turnover

A same-day offboarding checklist means former drivers can’t keep using apps on personal phones or hold on to company devices with customer data. You recover hardware more often and close access every time, not just when someone remembers.

Payouts and Payroll Protected

MFA and named accounts on partner portals, payroll and banking stop phished owner credentials from turning into redirected payments. Your drivers get paid correctly and on time, which matters when you’re competing to keep good drivers.

Evidence Ready for Claims

Managed dashcam retention and preserved clips give your insurer and attorney what they need after an accident or a damage claim. You defend your drivers with footage instead of trying to reconstruct events from memory.

Our Process

1
Count and label every driver phone, tablet and dashcam, and list each app, portal and platform drivers and office staff sign in to.
2
Enroll phones in device management with a work-only profile, enforced passcodes, overnight update windows and remote lock and wipe.
3
Write the onboarding and offboarding checklist across every app and portal, including phone checkout and return logging.
4
Replace shared dispatch logins with named accounts and add MFA on email, partner portals, payroll and telematics admin accounts.
5
Assess station Wi-Fi during a real morning load-out, then resize, segment and add charging and staging plans as needed.
6
Review monthly through peak season, then quarterly: device counts, unreturned phones, account cleanup, dashcam retention and phishing attempts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should drivers use their own phones or company phones?▼
Both can work, with different tradeoffs. Company phones give you full control: a locked-down profile, remote wipe and consistent setup, but you have to manage collection and loss. Personal phones save hardware cost but mix customer data with drivers’ personal lives. If you allow them, we set up a managed work profile that holds only the delivery apps and data, which you can remove when a driver leaves without touching their personal content. Your counsel should review any device policy drivers sign.
How fast can a departing driver lose access?▼
As fast as your process runs. With device management and a written checklist, a manager can request lock and account removal the moment a driver quits or doesn’t return, and the phone gets locked remotely while their app access is removed. The usual delay comes from not knowing every place a driver had an account. The checklist fixes that by listing each app, portal and system, so nothing gets missed during a busy morning.
Our station Wi-Fi fails at load-out. Why?▼
At load-out, a fleet of phones all join the network, sync routes, upload yesterday’s data and sometimes pull app updates at once. Consumer-grade or poorly placed access points can’t handle that density, especially in a metal warehouse. We assess the station during a real morning, place business-grade access points where drivers stage, schedule app updates overnight on managed phones and give driver devices their own network segment. Cellular can carry some load, but solid Wi-Fi keeps data costs and delays down.
How do we handle dashcam footage after an accident?▼
First, make sure the relevant clips are preserved before the camera or platform overwrites them. We configure retention settings and an easy way for managers to flag and save footage, and we limit who can download or share clips so they don’t end up on personal phones or social media. Your insurer and attorney decide what footage is needed and how it’s handled for a claim. Our job is making sure it exists, stays intact and has a clear access record.
We get phishing emails pretending to be our delivery partner. What should we do?▼
Don’t click links in those emails; sign in to the partner portal through a saved bookmark instead. Attackers imitate partner and shipper alerts because owners act on them quickly. We add MFA to your portal and email accounts, tighten email filtering, set up impersonation detection and give your office a short guide to spotting fakes. If someone already entered credentials, change them immediately and contact us, and we check for unauthorized access and payout changes, with after-hours emergency response for active incidents.
Do you support the routing and delivery apps?▼
We support the devices, accounts and network they run on. Routing, scanning and proof-of-delivery apps typically belong to your partner network or a software vendor, who handles app bugs and data issues. We make sure phones have the right app versions, permissions and connectivity, that drivers can sign in, and that devices are configured consistently. When an app issue appears, we gather device details and help you raise it with the right support team quickly.
Do you provide Last in Houston and nearby areas?▼
Yes. LayerLogix is based in the Greater Houston area and delivers last to businesses across Houston and the surrounding communities, including The Woodlands, Spring, Katy, Sugar Land, Conroe, Cypress, and Pearland. For most Houston-area clients we can be on-site the same day when something needs hands-on attention, and our help desk is available during business hours, with after-hours emergency support. Call 713-571-2390 to check coverage for your specific address.
What does Last cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
