How do you help with seafood traceability requirements?▼
We make the systems behind traceability dependable. Finfish, crustaceans and molluscan shellfish are on the FDA Food Traceability List, and imported species may fall under NOAA's Seafood Import Monitoring Program. Your team decides what data to capture and how to report it. We make sure the software holding lot, vessel and origin data is backed up immutably, access is controlled and logged, and you can pull a lot history quickly. If you're moving off spreadsheets, we can help plan that migration.
Our plant is near the water. What does a storm plan for IT include?▼
It covers what gets shut down, in what order, and how it comes back. We start by moving whatever we can to cloud or inland hosting, so your ERP and traceability data don't depend on the building. For equipment that stays on-site, we document a shutdown sequence, raise or relocate hardware where practical and confirm off-site backups are current before landfall. After the storm, a restart checklist gets receiving and invoicing up first. We rehearse it before the season.
Seasonal workers come and go. How do you keep accounts under control?▼
We connect access to the hiring paperwork you already do. When someone is hired for the season, a standard account gets created with access only to the devices and apps their role needs. When the season ends or someone leaves early, the account gets disabled the same day. At the end of each season we run an access review with you and remove anything that slipped through. Shared devices use quick named sign-in, so records stay attributable without slowing the line.
We process shellfish. Are there extra record concerns?▼
Shellfish dealers working under the National Shellfish Sanitation Program keep harvest tag and shipping records that state shellfish authorities review. Those records, and the systems that store tag scans or transaction logs, need retention, access control and backups like any other food safety record. We protect the IT side. Requirements for how long to keep tags and what they must show belong to your QA staff and your state shellfish control authority.
What kind of email fraud targets seafood companies?▼
Mostly impersonation. An attacker poses as a buyer, broker or overseas supplier and asks to change bank details, or sends a fake purchase order to get product released on credit. Sometimes a real partner's mailbox has been compromised, so the message lands in a genuine thread. We add MFA, impersonation and lookalike-domain detection and alerts on mailbox forwarding rules, and help you adopt a rule that bank changes are confirmed by phone on a number you already have.
Do you work on our freezer and refrigeration controls?▼
No. Refrigeration controls, blast freezer panels and processing equipment belong to your refrigeration contractor and the equipment OEMs. We secure the IT network around them and the boundary between that equipment and your office systems, including remote access the contractor uses to monitor temperatures. Any change that could affect equipment gets planned with them first. If a temperature monitoring dashboard feeds data to your office, we make sure that connection is secure and reliable.

What does Seafood Processing IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
