How does ticketing fraud happen at agencies?▼
Usually through stolen credentials. An agent enters their GDS or email password into a phishing page, or malware on a laptop captures it. The attacker signs in and issues tickets against the agency’s ticketing authority, often for routes popular with fraud resellers. The agency may not notice until the settlement report or an airline debit memo arrives. We reduce that risk with MFA where your GDS supports it, tighter ticketing permissions, endpoint protection on agent devices and monitoring for unusual ticketing patterns.
Is it safe for clients to email passport scans?▼
It’s common, but it leaves identity documents sitting in mailboxes for years, where a single phished password exposes all of them. A better approach is a secure upload link that drops documents straight into your client profile system or an encrypted folder with limited access. We set that up, help you write a short client-facing note explaining the process, and work with you to find and purge old scans from inboxes, sent folders and desktops.
Does PCI DSS apply to travel agencies?▼
If you accept or handle card data, yes. Many agencies pass cards directly to suppliers, but they still collect card details through authorization forms, phone calls or profiles, which brings PCI DSS into play. The more you can move to tokenized payment links and supplier-hosted payments, the smaller your scope. We help you map how card data actually flows, remove card numbers from email and documents, and complete the self-assessment questionnaire with evidence. The attestation is yours as the merchant.
We’re a host agency. How do we manage independent advisors’ devices?▼
You usually can’t take over a contractor’s personal laptop, and you shouldn’t need to. We set up a managed work profile or secure workspace that holds agency email, client data and booking tools, with MFA and the ability to remove agency data when the advisor leaves. You set minimum standards in your advisor agreement, like screen locks, updates and no shared accounts, and we give you a way to check them. Your counsel should review the contract language.
Can you help us answer corporate travel security questionnaires?▼
Yes. Corporate travel buyers and procurement teams ask about how you protect traveler profiles, who can access them, MFA, encryption, incident response, and how quickly you’d notify them of a problem. We help you implement controls that support honest answers, then build a reusable response set and a short security overview document. Notification commitments and contract terms should be reviewed by your counsel, but you’ll have the technical facts behind them.
What if an advisor’s laptop is stolen during a trip?▼
If it’s enrolled in device management with full-disk encryption, the data on it is protected, and we can lock or wipe it remotely as soon as you tell us. We then reset the advisor’s passwords and GDS sign-on, check for unusual activity, and ship or set up a replacement so they can keep serving clients. If there’s any sign that accounts were accessed, we escalate to after-hours emergency response and give your counsel the facts needed for any notification decision.

What does Travel Agencies IT Services cost for a Houston business?▼
Pricing depends on your size and what you need, so we do not publish a one-size-fits-all number — but Houston businesses generally pay a flat, predictable monthly fee rather than surprise hourly bills. We start with a free, no-obligation assessment of your current setup, then give you a clear quote in plain English with no hidden costs. That way you know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before you commit.
